swim just took 450mg of DXM or so without looking into the adverse reactions of his new medication, Atomoxetine. Should I be worried? DXM inhibits CYP2D6, which is where Atomoxitine is metabolized as well. Apparantly Since he's on 40mg daily (takes about 72 hours to fully dissipate from plasma), and 150 mg is within the realm of standard dose, is there any way to know if an Overdose is likely.

Basically, does anyone know what percent of CYP2D6 DXM inhibits.
sorry this is my first post but swim really needs to know

Thanks

Luckily it seems that Atomoxetine is not an SSRI so there wouldn't appear to be a large risk for seratonin syndrome. I would expect a long duration and probably not a very good experience, but I don't think you are heading towards overdose territory or anything.

I am not very knowledgeable though I'm afraid. Hopefully someone smarter than me can charm in (probably anyone on this board :D )

The swim device usually elicits a few insults here. Even so, I don't think I've ever seen it used in the absence of illegal activity and in the presence of a 1st-person subject pronoun.

DXM won't make you significantly unable to metabolize atomoxetine. The atomoxetine may sour your DXM experience a bit. There's one published study on the interaction.

You *JUST* took it but didn't check for interactions and you *JUST* come to BL to check for interactions with your other *NEW* medication ????? Hope this swimtroll extincts himself,we are in bad need to raise the IQ of the human race (dark House cynism off)

As the other posters said, an adverse interaction is unlikely. Because both DXM and atomoxetine are both metabolized by the same enzyme, it will probably take longer for the DXM to get metabolized into dextrorphan, possibly resulting in higher peak plasma levels of DXM at first. But beyond that, I doubt you'll have any problems.

Then I am guessing you haven't browsed through BDD much, lol
