Salvia - Does it work for you?

Salvia did not work for me, strangely enough, the first three times. I tried it again a couple of years afterward and had an intense breakthrough experience. An experience that two years before I would not have been ready for. Salvia is the real deal.
 
80x extract in a bowl 5-6 hits. Nothing.

I see people freaking out on this stuff all the time in real life, talking about going into other worlds and stuff. I see thousands of experiences and videos posted as well saying it's the most potent stuff they've ever tried. It's working for everybody else, what gives?

Each time it costs a lot. Nothing. Makes no sense.

This makes me suspicious. I've never seen over 60x advertised by a vendor, and I've heard from reliable sources that those numbers are often vastly exaggerated. Legitimate 20x extract is plenty sufficient, anyhow.

I think the real problem, though, is that you're smoking it out of a pipe. A big rip of a couple pinches of 20x extract atop some carrier herb in a quality bong will get pretty much anyone where they're looking to go with salvia.

Are you burning it at a high enough temp or just smoking through a pipe like cannibis? Salvinorin A has a much higher vaporization temperature than THC. This is the main cause of failures with salvia I have seen. Try a crack torch;)

Yea,

even without this I would be interested in some statistics as a sidedish. I'm adding a poll if you're all cool with it and searching for existing salvia topics to see what else is possible.

You know, I've had a couple friends who seemed totally unable to smoke salvia with any noticeable results. I don't know if it was an issue of technique--I watched them both attempt it several times and there wasn't anything visibly wrong with their form--but they never experienced anything other than a strange body feeling even after several attempts with extract of confirmed potency. However, sublingual administration produced powerful and frightening results for each of them.

I've heard of similar things occurring with DMT (e.g. people being unable to blast off by smoking it but getting launched into another universe by IM/IV administration). Perhaps its due to some variation in the absorbtivity of lung tissue from person to person? Or maybe it's just high natural tolerance rendering smoking impractical as an ROA? I dunno, just thinkin' out loud really.
