Heyy everyone, I don't know if this is fit for ADD (sorry if it is not).. but a friend of mine called me today with a weird scenario.

Background info:
So a friend of mine has a vial of "LSD" (so they say) and called me up today saying that "The LSD in the vial recrystallized", now I am scratching my head saying *wtf*.. so I asked if it was kept in a refrigerator, she said "No, the person I got it from said that would damage it (the LSD)". She also said that she has tried it and was informed that it was 100mcg/hit.

Question:
Since that is not super-saturated, how at room temperature could LSD possibly recrystallize? My thought is it is either not water in the vial, or not LSD. She had mentioned that under a black light it glowed BRIGHT Blue.

Anyone throw out a possible scenario?

Thanks

Doesn't really sound like LSD. Try out the Ehrlich and Marquis reagent.

exacly what I told her.

Thanks guys.

Another off-shot question, it is psychedelic (this batch has been sampled so they say), what the hell would come out of sol'n at room temp?

^^^
a supersaturated soln of almost anything, especially if the solvent started to evaporate. but think about it this way, if its DOx (most likely) they would be attempting to squeeze 1mg+ into each drop, thats 100mg+ in each vial! not surprising that a little evap could precipitate crystals, with LSD the soln will not be supersaturated and the total amount of crystal will be much smaller.

That is what I told her, so thanks for the confirmation
