I've posted pics in TDS once or twice before, but I try not to do so too often. I might throw one over to HL as a 'before' pic sometime soon, as I've kind of let myself go over the last month.

ocean-- it was actually horribly stale as well as overcooked. Very disappointing. I had far better ones at my Uncle's place in the countryside. Not to mention tons of other excellent bread, first rate local wine and cheese, and mind-blowing weissbier. Oh man.

More pictures forthcoming. Someday. ;)

You didn't happen to get real German recipes for me from your uncle did you?
I LOVE German food.....but it is like begging for a heart attack :)
Everything has bacon grease, bacon or pork.......
I am sure the veggie dishes are just as scrumptious though ;)
My father in laws mother is German and she passed on a VERY simple recipe for a cucumber salad that I love......but its loaded with sugar .
Ya just can't go healthy with German food really :) But man is it delicious.......
 
This is a repost from the lounge, but this is how I get down on the piano. I consider myself a cross between Stevie Wonder, Billy Joey, and the guy from Coldplay...witht the hair of Jerry Lee Lewis(no 13 yr old cousin bangin though) Hair now though, not when this was taken like a year ago.

I tried my best to stay in the room but he needed a bit more than just an extraction......some surgery stuff I guess and my ears started ringing at the sight of the needle.....so when the drill sounded and the scary knife thing came out I almost passed out and excused myself! hahaha I was like 'um...i gotta go!' hahaha poor PIP :D

Ocean-- Nah, he can't cook worth anything. I can't recall, was there something specific you wanted to know how to cook? A great, easy dish is krautspaetzle:

Take some cooked spaetzle (leftover is fine, lots is better), mix with roughly half that amount of sauerkraut and place in a lightly greased casserole dish. Top with breadcrumbs which have been seasoned and mixed with a bit of oil/butter/fat of your choice. Bake until awesome, usually 15-20 min at 350F. Traditionally it has bacon mixed in as well. I can testify that this is thoroughly delicious. Especially with some tasty vegetarian sausage.

ocean, I'd love to send you some genuine eucalyptus leaves! Do you by any chance know which species are best for the oil? I have no idea! I could look in to it for you. There are heaps of different species around our house so I'm sure I could find some leaves off the right one(s).
