Top 5 electronic producers

Oh yeah I forgot to mention when I started this thread:

You're not allowed to make a list if the only genre you've ever listened to is commercial trance.

I mean wtf? - deadmau5??? Armin Van Buuren??? You're not seriously telling me that their back catalogues are more impressive than Underworld's.

My alternate list:

Thievery Corporation

Hybrid

Amon Tobin

High Contrast

London Elektricity

woah, sounds like a personal attack to me. We all have different tastes in music. Music elitism is the biggest bullshit out there, and I wouldn't expect it on a forum like this. CALM THE FUCK DOWN

I love trance (yes, commercial trance). I listen to other genres, and lesser-known artists, but I love the producers that I mentioned.

Are there any more opinions, or have I scared everybody off???!!!!!!!!

There's not really any rules as to who you're allowed to include in your list! I'm sure there are some people out there who have listened to every genre under the sun, but who genuinely prefer commercial stuff to everything else. Take Acid Eifel for example - he's listened to lots of music, but he recently confided in me that his alltime favourite producers are The Vengaboys and 2 Unlimited :)

Cummon guys - this thread is supposed to be 'Top 5 electronic producers', not 'List all the producers you like'. No one ever said that picking 5 was easy, but if it makes you think, so much the better!

I like samb834's taste in music
same style

Awesome, thanks mate... I take that as a massive complement... Ive got a few others as well, I'll have a dig through and let you know my essential must have albums... Maybe you do the same?

Cummon, I see no problem with extending the list...

I know for a fact that when I see somone has posted a few producers that I like, and loads I've never heard of, you can be sure that I'm gonna check them out. Fucking awesome way of discovering new music, which happens to be one of my favourite things on earth...

As long as people are putting some thought into it and not just copying in their whole itunes list, surely thats much better then just restricting it t five?

I don't know about top 5 but these are the ones I've been listening to most lately

edIT
Heyoka
Apparat
Trentemoller
Pretty Lights

In no particular order:

Boys Noize
Aphex Twin
Infected Mushroom
Eric Prydz <--- this guy is a legend, not all his work is commercial. CANT BELIEVE NO MENTION YET
Daft Punk <--- for shaping a great sound

and by god I want to say underworld, but didn't make the top five.

The whole idea is thinking about it, and limiting it to five, I can mention more, but your five BEST, not just some 10 or so you really enjoy. It is so much harder, and creates more substance to the thread. A threat titled "name your favourite EDM producers" would get flooded. This way it's easier for people to discover influential artists.
