Yeah that does make sense. I wasn't really thinking.
I'm using 30 gauge needles 3/8" tips
Think about a hose...if there is a hole half way down the hose, wouldn't it make more sense to have the water enter the hose earlier than the location of the hole to avoid leaking?
It also has to do with healing time.

Your veins are excellent at repairing themselves, and they start doing that immediately.

Does anyone have suggestions for keeping the needle inside the vein during the process of releasing the tourniquet, repositioning the hand to where you can depress the plunger, etc.? At the moment, I'm having to actually let go of the syringe completely for a second (I gently leave it resting against the arm). then during my repositioning it just barely slips out.
Haha, then how come you have zero veins?
I started IV'ing H about a month or so ago. I could hit a few different veins without any trouble. I have used a few different spots but now I cannot get a shot to register. I have been using the same couple of syringes for a while now about four or five times each. My question is why was I able to hit a vein so easy for a month or so and now I cant hit one anywhere? Is it possible that my syringes are bad. I have been missing way to frequent. It seems that when I hit a vein or what seems to be a vein I get a little tinge of pain not bad but it seems that it hurts a little when it goes into the vein ( if it is in a vein) but never registers. I would think I would get better not worse at hitting the mark. This is getting very frustrating and any help would be appreciated. The syringes I use are for diabetics and are very fine gauge not sure but I think 31. Do they go bad? I am starting to look like a pincushion! Help!!!
Thanks everyone for the replies!!
There arent any exchange programs in my State. I will be sticking to snorting until I can get a supply of needles. Its just not the same though but Im not looking to make a mess of myself!!
Does anyone know if syringes can be ordered over the web and if they can some recommendations on what to buy. Again thanks you all for the quick replies!!
In the state of New Jersey, you're supposed to have a prescription. Some sites will ask you for yours, however without a prescription, some sites will still sell them to you.I live in New Jersey. I have already found a place to order syringes. I saw that someone ordered from GPZ Services and I did the same. I would still like to know if I can go to a local Rx to get them to. Thanks!
I ordered Terumo 1cc 29g 1/2. Thats seems to be an ok choice according to some things I've read here.
