LSD-How to accept the trip and reduce confusion time

Ive only tripped once and im planning my next LSD trip in about 2 weeks. First time i tripped it was soo powerful, i could not believe how powerful this drug was. But it was amazing. The only problem is that since i had no idea what to expect, my mind was having a hard time accepting the drug and dealing with that power. So i spent the first 3 hours feeling very confused and kinda uncomfortable, trying to figure out what the hell, until my mind finally gave up cause the drug was just too powerful and it all hit me, but the actual time that i was finally in the zone and being mind blown was only like 3 hours.

Someone from here told me it's because i just didnt know what to expect and accept the drug, so i spent most of my trip, or at least half of it, in that state of confusion.

In my next trip, i would really like to decrease that time of confusion, do u guys have any tips to accepting a trip so u can get in the zone faster ? I mean, what i felt when i was in the zone was mind blowing, i was very clear headed but in la la land at the same time, it was amazing! But in the confusion time, it's not so pleasant, so it would be great if that didnt last for so long. I dont know how to let my mind go or be taken by the drug

Any help appreciated

When it really starts to hit and you get that tension, go lay down. Just lay down and take it all in, surrender to it. Slow, rhythmic breathing can help. Have faith in yourself and just let go of control. I know how hard that is when you're new to tripping; practice makes perfect. :)

Uniter, thanks for the tip. I think that what also causes confusion is that i start thinking too much. I dont do it on purpose but all these thoughts come to my mind and i just keep asking myself questions instead of just letting it be. Do u try to clear ur mind at all?

I just let my mind wander. I don't try to control my thoughts; just let them flow. Acknowledge them but don't get in their way.

My favorite thing to do when my body is tense and my thoughts are going fast is to sprawl out on the floor, just stretch out and stretch your joints and muscles, wiggle and writhe around while you're down there. When I do this my thoughts are given free reign to wander around, I giggle and laugh at the things I come up with, that kind of stuff. :)

After doing that for a while the tension will have past and I will have broken through the tension, I'll be flowingly tripping by this point and everything is good. :)

I often go outside and lie down to stare at the stars or go for a walk around. Or just lie down and meditate, and contemplate stuff. Really meditating and entering an immersive state is another whole world. It helps to get through the initial come-up tension with physical exercise and then you can meditate to really surrender and reach higher states.

letting go can take some practice....

Although since you halfway know what to expect, expect it to be a little easier to handle this time...

My first acid trip was the most powerful one i have had, it wasn't a high dose by any means but it shook me to the core....

All trips following have been easier on my mind...

There is 3 best anti trip stress things ... 1. Music 2. Futurama 3. Masturbation....
do these things all the time and you should never ever have bad trip ;)

Don't worry too much about it, nobody really takes a decent dose of LSD their first time and doesn't feel confused for a portion of the trip.

Just think of this quote by Timothy Leary, can't remember the exact words but it's like:

"The only people who become psychotic during an LSD trip are the ones who have never taken it before"

Your 2nd trip will be fine because you'll have SOME IDEA of what to expect....you'll be ready for the weird feeling of seeing the wall melt and distort into things you never imagined possible = )

Tips to help relax: 1. Don't watch TV, whoever suggested that doesn't know what they're talking about.

2. Meditation and breathing exercises, concentrate on only thinking of how important each breath is and how good it is for you to be aware of. Doing this sober will even relax you, try it BEFORE and DURING the trip. You won't believe how this works during a trip especially.

3. Music with positive vibes and lyrics, or no lyrics at all. Usually lyrics are what can cause bad trips because things are taken more literally under the affects of this powerful drug. So don't listen to KORN or your favorite death metal band.

^^ TV can be good, if you have a TV show that you really love, is light-hearted and makes you feel relaxed and happy can be brilliant.

Certain TV shows have saved me from uncomfortable thoughts and feelings many times over during trips.

It helps if you have seen the movie/TV show before, otherwise you probably won't know whats going on :)

If you're comfortable wit the idea, have a one off, klargish dose trip (say 400-500ug) - after that you'll be much more accepting of later trips. Alternatively, try some DMT - after the rocket ride that doesn't give you time to worry/panic/get anxious, all trips beciome a much more relaxed affair

The confusion you speak of seems to be a sort of sensory overload or at least a change overload because you have to get used to this new headspace and it keeps you lagging behind. It is experienced in a negative way if you feel like losing control and you don't want that to happen.

As uniter said, laying down is a very good remedy but to be specific I always see it as putting your mind in order. When the confusion set in all sorts of thought keep stacking up and you aren't keeping up. So by laying down you stop the stacking, input is decreased. On top of that you say to yourself: "OK let's start at the beginning, what is concretely the matter, what is it exactly that I am confused about?"

Then, for every such question you can answer you can get past it, and for every question you can't answer you can just put the whole thing down to rest because if you can't do anything with it it's a worthless thought, like static on your minds radio. This way you're not letting anything just float around in your head but you assign each though thus organizing it. If you think about it like that it's no surprise that the result is clarity!

If you do that while laying down and relaxing yourself everything is processed and analysed and you should feel refreshed, clearminded and ready to keep up again. During all this I think you will realize that you will not necessarily have gained control but lost the need for it, which makes you more free in a way.

Try it, it has certainly helped me when I needed it and realized all this.

Can you describe what it was like in more detail?

I think my wife had this on her first trip attempt, except that it lasted for the whole trip, so consider yourself lucky that you finally made it through. :) I'd love to hear more detail of what it felt like to know if it was the same state...

Thanks and good luck!

Sage advice, especially the first paragraph.:D<3

May i recommend Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band?

Its nice and upbeat, good music for an acid trip.... Most of the Beatles music is good for acid, although the white album was a bit of a headfuck for me... Granted i was laying down in a dark room with that playing, so it was complete mental chaos...

That being said, you will probably learn to embrace the chaos....

Ive been struggling to give myself over the past few trips It was easier the first few times around I felt.

Ive been taking too much anxiety into my trips recently which is why i havnt tripped for 6 months now
Though Ive been thinking for the past few weeks id like to go back to my trips and deal with what was bugging me I feel that this will be a good thing for me but Ive been patient so far so Im not about to rush it.

One thing that always helped was some nice chilled music

I recommend this group http://www.tribalimusic.com/
Most amazing thing ive ever heard whilst tripping
