Wow, I suppose police have caught all the violent offenders there are out there huh? Lets not worry about the guys who broke out of gaol, or the ones who beat up that cop last week, nah, fuck that, much better to catch recreational drug users!

Which one is easier to catch? Sad, but true!

^^ Apparently the WA police have commisioned a survey to get opinions on sniffer dog use at these events. The survey is apparently anonymous and the company conducting it looks genuine enough. It's open until 30/04/09 to anyone that attended the Rock-It Music Festival, V Festival and/or Trance Energy.

I just noticed this. The survey certainly feels like its written from a police perspective. Would love to see the full results, though not sure that will happen exactly!

Greater police presence at the event
Harsher penalties for those with illicit drugs in their possession
Increased advertising that illicit drugs are not welcome at events

Well I'd choose more education but I'm not so sure we should focus on "preventing illicit drug use at events" in the first place. I'd imagine the folks who complete the survey may have similar concerns...

buy a vacuum sealer,seal your goodies, then spray them with a good cologne,seal again repeat process, three times. It' has worked so far............while we are on the subject of the cops if they drug test you and get you for DUI, fight it in court, the test cannot distinguish an active molecule from a metabolite and if it could they have to establish mg/ltr of blood...WARNING...I haven't proved this as yet but it's better than getting done, for the meantime I'm 99% the test the cops have in NSW/vic cannot tell the difference, so if you get done lets say 15 hours after a pill your not DUI any more

People i know take 200+ pills into raves no problem at all. It just needs to be sealed really well, then placed into a satchel, then washed so no debris is on the outside. Then the person should shower, change clothes..etc and you're fine.

I got past 3-4 dogs at a festival in February with a few pills in my pocket..just walked right past. Most of the time there's 1/5 people holding drugs so the dogs go crazy and don't know where to sniff.

I wonder how good there smell is tho. Say if someone were 100 meters away would they smell it? Ive seen dogs where they were pulling the police officers for over 30-40 meters to catch someone.

Sniffer dogs work best when there's not many people around. Also, their sense of smell lasts for about 20-40 minutes, after which they can't smell jack shit.

Of course, at events there's a lot of people around, a lot of different smells so it's already hard enough for the dogs to smell anything.

If the dogs have been there for 1 hour already, you're pretty safe as their sense of smell is completely useless, and the only time they "sniff" people out is totally random, either cos the dog thought it smelled something or the cop motioned it to sit down next to a shady character.

Keep in mind (I know I'm repeating myself) - Dogs were NOT meant to smell stuff in a heavy crowd. They only work well with a few people around and in short periods of time.

As mentioned previously, the dogs don't actually smell the drugs, they smell the residue of the drugs. So if you were at home bagging your shit, and you were wearing the clothes that you're going to wear to the event, chances are particles of the drug will be stuck to your clothes, even if the drugs didnt touch your clothes. The dog will smell these particles, not the drug itself.

So always bag your shit couple days beforehand, preferrably do it naked in the bathroom so theres nothing for the smell to stick to, then thoroughly clean yourself and you should be good to go.

I usually just stuff it between my buttcheeks. Not quite inside my ass but just in the crack where even if I got strip searched, they wont see the stuff. They sure as hell aren't going to run their hand between your crack (unless you and the cop have a kinky fetish, then by all means get a room).

Also, attitude comes into play, play it cool, seriously dont trip out or panic, be nice, be respectiful, talk in a professional but not snooty tone and you'll be right. One time this guy in front of me got sniffed and he turned around and started to walk away fast. The cops were on him like a etheopian kid on a world vision food crate.

Dont do it a few daysd before, the scent will leak do it 12 hours or 6 hours before the event but use gloves and wash yourself very well in the shower.

Hey I knew a girl that for a pill or two would hide it in a modified tampon. Gross I know but if you were strip searched and had a tampon or pad theyre not going to want to get in trouble or risk blood near them. Most girls use their bras though asd its higher up. Seems a lot of girls are the smugglers

A BIG WARNING to anyone who is going to or living in Western Sydney, Penrith. Theres about 3-4 dogs, 6-7 police officers and a big police van. There at the station right at this minute even going on the platforms and sniffing everybody.. ..Not sure if this is a frequent thing but seems like it would be, i wouldnt advise goin out much clubbing round there for now too.

Just wanted to add that I have seen the dogs about a few times recently on the Sydney trains.
I've seen them sniffing passengers on their way through the ticket gates at Gosford Station and also wandering about Hornsby station. Only 2 dogs each time and about 4-6 officers.

I am under the impression that it is a random thing and they are just patrolling the trains more frequently lately.

If anyone has any information as to why there are more cops and sniffer dogs about on Sydney rail recently, let us know.

I wonder what became of that WA police survey? Most likely the response they got didn't agree with the political opinion on sniffer dogs so they ignored it. As far as I know, they have now trained their own passive detection dogs and there is not going to be drug disposal bins anymore.

^^ i know they've discontinued the drug bins, but that was probably more because they only had a handful of drugs in there.

I remember hearing a report that the WA police have a bunch of new dogs, they used to use customs ones i think. I've only seen/heard of dogs in perth at the perth train station on festival days, i've been told its because they use customs dogs which can only be used at transport hubs (train station, airport, etc). Not sure if its true though.

I'm pretty sure it's safer to say that it's just the luck of the draw. When you're carrying you must be willing to accept the risks of being caught.

Not shitting yourself does help though with respect to cops catching on to your reaction to the dogs.

U could of been carrying BZP pills? hahaha joking donno why they didnt smell it tho. Cops are at the stations all the time. Watch out for Penrith station too in Sydney there usually there on weekdays mainly Thursdays around 3pm.

At a curtain event a month ago in Sydney I came in at around 11pm, I wasn't carrying but my gf was carrying 7 pills walked straight past the dogs.

I got a bit nervous but didn't show it and so did she she was less nervous then me haha anyway the dog followed us for about 20m this is when i was shitting myself and the cop asked us to stop there for a second, the dog paid no attention to her at all just started sniffing my feet jumped up on my bag and all that we were then allowed to leave lucky as lol.

I was the one who wrapped up the goodies what i did was glad wrap a couple baggies (old ones with lots of residue i should have used good ones) and put inside a kinda surprise thingy, wrapped that up in some glad wrap. Took it into the shower and washed myself and it with soap, face wash and shampoo, wrapped in a condom and up it went! *In her not me*
