TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa authorities say a 4-year-old girl was treated in a hospital after eating candy that was tainted with Oxycontin

The girl was with her grandparents, driving home Monday from Tampa International Airport, when she became lethargic. They took her to a hospital where she was treated and later released.

Authorities say deputies found several pills mixed in with the Skittles, and say the bag had been resealed. Airport police Chief Paul Sireci says officers pulled about 30 bags of Skittles off store shelves as a precaution.

Sireci says it's possible someone gave the candy to the girl, or she picked up a bag from a bench.

A spokesman for Wrigley, which makes Skittles, told WFTS TV in Tampa they were cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

Damn. First it was coke now OC? I'm gonna have to start buying a few packs of skittles a week. It's gonna become the lottery for druggies.

this is bullshit, there obviously more to this story. No one would just put OC in a bag of skittles and then seal them back up and put them on a shelf in a store for an un-assuming person to pick them up.. Her grandma probably get prescribed OC and somehow a pill got ingested by the little girl and the grandparents, being retarded, made this ridiculous story up.

I definately agree theres gotta be more to the story. Noones gonna go oh hey lets waste all our oxys and play a prank so a few ppl get sick. If there was oxys in the bag theres got to be a better reason than that

What a crazy idea for aprank though right? 'Lets throw a few 20s in this bag of skittles and see if they notice....'

well maybe someone uses this as a semi discreet way for drug deals. Like someone says "grab the skittles 3rd bag under in the back row". This way they never touch the shit and the user gets thier opiate and sugar fix all in one.

Thats what im thinking to, even though realistically its a dumb ass hell idea because you have to know that unless he walks in to buy it right after you set it there.odds are some kid is gonna want skittles lol

Coulda been the resealed oc's for a drug deal thing and somehow there was a mixup.. i know people who used to put a sheet of acid per box of jello and seal it back and throw several boxes in with a bottle of vodka so it looked like it was for vodka shots and sell ea "box of jello" for $300 lol.. it required some trust cause u had to assume there was a sheet of acid in the box the first time they did it lol..

How could someone chew up a fucking oxy and not think hey these dont taste like my skittles?

no one would go through that much trouble just to throw away their OC's, actually I take that back, their are people that are stupid enough to do it, guaranteed

Theres obviously something's not being said there

wow this the second time you totally took what I was going to say..Fuck yeah. Thats deff what happened..No one puts Oxys in a bag of skittles and seals it back up. Unless somehow they did that to hide the drugs so they could carry it on him/her and they lost it...and then the girl found it on the ground.

She was driving home from the airport. Sounds like someone put OxyContin pills in their Skittles bag then resealed it in order to smuggle it through airport security. Kinda clever. Not sure how the girl got them though.

She's 4 years old. I'm not saying she can't notice the difference in consistency between an OxyContin and a Skittle, just doubt that she'd think twice about it.
