Glass pipes. Really worth it?

I'm thinking of buying a glass pipe. I already have a glass bong (although it doesnt have glass-on-glass joints and is pretty small and crappy) and a metal pipe. I always hear people banging on about glasswear and how much better it is to use, I was just wondering why.

I'm after a spoon and will probably spend about $30 on it (negotiable).

Is it really worth the money if I already have two peices at home?

It's worth it over metal, it's like the difference between eating off a metal plate and eating off a glass/china plate.
 
Absolutely!!!! Smoking from glass allows the full, untainted flavor of your weed. You won't want to smoke from metal or wood again! Many of my friends have a bunch of glass each because of the artistry of the pieces
 
Yeah getting a nice 35-45 dollar glass spoon is well worth it.. Make sure to grab a little case for it too, they are only like 2 bucks at my local headshop but they'll extend the life of that bowl 10fold.
 
I'll echo all of the above and say that while glass can break and chip it's superior to metal and it's easier to clean and tastes better.
 
I definately do like the glass bong I have. I was tokin up this afternoon in my front garden (my driveway is a downward hill so its one of the only places I cant actually be seen smoking) and knocked it off a wall that I was sitting on. I thought it was gone as soon as I saw it tuble but luckily it was okay.

Surely if i dont have screens for it, it will collect resin and get all nasty tho?
 
glass is definitely the best option

although i've never tried/seen any pieces made out of crystal...thats just too ritzy
 
I'm a glassblower(pipe maker) and I highly recommend a glass pipe.

Please make sure you're not being sold an import and support your local glass artist.
 
I got my old bowl for 20 dollars, it was nice but then my friend claimed it was stolen by his parents but someone else told me he uses it to smoke but they could just be trying to start shit. Anyways I got my second bowl for free basically, all I had to do was type an essay for my friend for school.

glass pies don't require screens. Screens affect the flavor
 
^i use a screen, well, depending on how big the hole in the bowl is. i dont want no weed flyin in to my mouth lol

ask your local headshop for some glass jacks next time. basically a little glass piece that looks like a 3d X that you put in the bottom of your glass bowl.

ive always found that screens are hard as hell to get to stay in my bowl until its resin'd up, and a pita to get out. jacks should run a dollar or two each, but are reusuable. throw them in a jar with alcohol and they're good to go the next time.

oh and btw, glass or gtfo.
 
If you're reasonably careful with an unscrenned glass pipe you won't be sucking up any ash.

Then again if you really just want to rip it like there's no tomorrow stick with the bong.

hah yah man we call 'em glass screens, there sick. :)
 
or use a pebble...... or a piece of broken glass from a beer bottle or some shit.... at least its free headshops charge like 5 dollars for 4 somethings i can make 10000 of with a beer bottle
