Can animals such as cats get contact highs from humans? Or even humans??

That's an interesting theory, I was not aware of the idea of mirror neurons, thanks for sharing that.

I think this may indeed have a lot to do with the contact high phenomenon (it happens to people as well, not just animals, just read the 2C-I entry in PIHKAL), although I doubt it's the whole picture. In reality, it is much more complex, I believe.

Regarding drugs affecting you through the skin - that's a myth. Drugs don't get excreted through the skin, only their metabolites do (which are inactive).
 
Every experience I've had with any psychedelic involving animals or other people who weren't on any substance proved to give some sort of contact high.

IME the same has occurred with me, primarily with other people who were on MDMA, when I wasn't on anything. I would immediately feel like I was lightly rolling after being with that person for 10-15 minutes.
 
A friend of mine claimed when he was on mdma, that a mosquito landed on him, he let it take his blood because he wanted it to get high, then he claims it was chilling with him...lol?

A he is dead serious when he talks about it, i think too many drugs for this lad.
 
I must say that contact high is the stupididiest thing ever. Your body reacts how your brain expects your body to react (see the italian morphine/Parkinson's experiment) to a large degree. And people often react to the emotions and physical signs of other's emotions. Also triggers can induce a different state as well. I have no doubt that animals pick up on your state of tension or lack thereof. I've gotten a contact high when cocaine has made contact with my mucous membranes. Other drugs have "made contact" too. Those are the only contact highs I've ever received.

Some people really denounce the connected energy between everything, and the aura or energy phenomena given off by humans/ plants/animals in general...

it's pretty sad

okay i have a few stories to go along with this...

once two friends and i split a quarter of mushrooms through some tea. my friends dog, a little palmaranian, was fine. we started trippin and as soon as we all confirmed we were feelin it, the dog started shaking and running around the house. it was afraid of us for like 5 hours. if we approached it, it would either run away, or curl up in a ball and cower in fear.

as soon as we were done trippin the dog was fine again and acting completely normal... we spent a lot of the trip worrying that something was wrong with the pup, but now we all realize it was just feelin the change in our vibratrions.

next,

Anytime my gf and I take rolls at her house, her usually unfriendly, anti-social cat comes out and plays with us, and she rubs us with her face and purs non stop until we come down, then she goes and hides again.

also,

The cat acted even weirder when we took acid and rolls, she would run out from under the table and charge us full speed and jump and swat at us and then keep running. we had to put her in another room cause she was fuckin up our trip really bad.


Soooo. I believe that cats particularly are trippin 24/7 anyway just in the way they percieve their surroundings. and i don't think that being on drugs around animals makes the animal experience the effects... BUT i do believe that they DEFINATLY know when you're on drugs, psychedelics in particular, and their behavior can change dramatically for the duration of the experience.

so i think that this is what was happening with your cat, she just knew something was different about you.

haha! damn. last time i rolled i was camping and got the shit bit out of me by mosquitos... they must have been having their own little mosquito rave ha

Anyways, IT may have something to do with how there is like "psychedelic brain reading" Can't think of the word right now for some reason, but it's like when you can read other peoples thought and know what their thinking... But anyways, I think that whole phenomenon might just have something to do with knowing people or things so well that you can expect what they are going to do and can tell when their acting different- cat's picking up on a humans different personality.

CAuse like, i've had this cat since he was a kitten, and it's been 5 years. So he knows me pretty well right?

But also, I believe cat's are supernatural in one way or another, and are some sort of omen and sort of have a symbiotic relationship with their owner..
 
I agree that there is definitely something else going on other than just animals picking up on change in your behaviour and adjusting their behaviour accordingly. The insane things some pets start doing when people around them are tripping simply cannot be explained with that.
 
Yeah... My cat was smacking his eye with his paw with a huge smile on his face with his eyes closed while rolling around (rolling around is normal for him, but not the rest) that's just one thing he was doing!

There is nothing else going on other than change in behavior, if you believe otherwise the government has brainwashed you.

Are you trying to say that the animals change behavior when we change behavior but you don't know why? Or are you saying when we change behavior we think that the animals change behavior aswell??

I don't see how people can be so close minded and assume there's nothing going on here, when no human being knows fully about the brain. If anyone here is brainwashed by the government, it would have to be you my friend.
