Marijuana Is The Most Insidious Drug There Is

with other drugs (heroin, cocaine, meth, etc.) there are immediate health risks, physical deterioration, and possible death by way of overdose or other complications, that will make the user want to stop. With weed, there are none of these concerns. There is no real reason to ever quit weed. To take breaks, sure, but to quit for life? Why? unless you're being randomly drug-tested there's no reason to. And thats how it gets you. I'm not bashing weed, I LOVE IT, but after a 2-month break of seriously trying to quit i'm back smoking it everyday, and i notice my quality of life has drastically improved.

insidious? yes. the addiction is sure downplayed culturally.

but the word insidious has negative connotations. i think smoking weed makes me healthy wealthy and wise :)

nah, but seriously, even when i was fucking up my life via weed, i could manage myself and pretty much work around the habit. i'm more concerned about this speed addiction, tbh...

so ya, weed's insidious, but it only gets so bad. there's certainly worse.

improved from stopping or going back to the habbit? ;)

stopping and then going back. to me, breaks from weed are essential. they bring down your tolerance and make you appreciate weed again.

weed is an amazing drug, and for better or worse i'll probably be doing it for my whole life. sober living is just so boring and monotonous. weed makes everything an adventure

"dosis sola facit venenum". Allthough for some substances this recommended dose equals zero, IMO this is obviously not the case for weed. From my perspective it' an odd conclusion to say that it is an insidious drug.

idk...

to me it's the most inviting, friendliest, most helpful and overall positive substance i've ever encountered.

not trying to down you subby, but i do hear people say this to me a lot about different things. like, i'll be at work and someone will be saying...

"Damn, coffee is so evil! It's like, once you stop drinking it you can't stop! It controls me!"

or

"This chocolate cake is trying to kill me! It won't let me stop eating it."

:)

Anyway, I hope you get to a different head-space soon and can be happier.

IMHO anybody who is smoking weed and not having a great time doing it should take a break immediately, as that's a sure sign something is wonky with your outlook or life in general.

I don't know you personally though so I'm not judging you at all.

Much respect.

Insidious
1.Working or spreading harmfully in a subtle or stealthy manner: insidious rumors; an insidious disease.
2.Intended to entrap; treacherous: insidious misinformation.
3.Beguiling but harmful; alluring: insidious pleasures. (this is the only defintion that even remotely could apply-and i won't even give any creedence to the "harmful" in regard to weed)

I don't seem to get the coorealtion or implication...
Weed is so maligned and misconstrued. It's simply the the most pleasurable, versatile substance I know...it gives me nothing but enjoyment...My sympathies to those it affects adversely. (But like with other drugs, that people seem to make responsible for their problems/inadequacies, if that's where you think it makes your head go, then maybe it's your head)

good timing on the post count

my problem with weed is I can never see myself ever quitting. since there are no immediate health concerns, there's no reason to. And when I dont have it, my quality of life decreases noticeably. [at least for me] weed traps you because it appears so harmless. I don't know about you, but I dont know anybody that has smoked marijuana for a significant amount of time that has ever been able to quit

i used to think that way too but recently i've had no desire to smoke pot. only time i get craving for drugs is for harder shit

it is hard to see me quitting weed too. i would say that the positive aspects of weed outweigh the few negative aspects, usually just tied in to the fact that it is smoked. i am 2 weeks into a break and i dont think that my quality of life has gone up or down, but i have noticed that i think alot more about the negative parts of life when i am sober and dont even think about them when i am high, or have been high in the past couple days.

All I can say is thank god there isn't prominent physical withdrawals from herb, or I'd be fucked

^ then GTFO of Cannabis Discussion.

I love ganja, and don't see myself quitting until I absolutely have to. I will admit that yes, I would be wealthier if I didn't smoke the herb and I might be a bit more productive, but still... I LOVE IT. <3

There is responsible use and there is abuse. Don't kid yourself, this is always what "safe" drug use has been about. Nothing is "safe" when you abuse it.

i black out and start shaking if I see a joint or smell weed.

I'm doubting that it is actually an effect from weed on you if that is the case.

^^weed's probably a trigger for his/her panic attacks. they most likely had a bad experience or two and now associate everything pot-related to that fucked up "high"/low that they had.

Well yeah, exactly. But you can't really say that weed has that effect on you simply from seeing it, it's just your self conscience doing it. Who knows, the next time could be awesome. Sorry if it doesn't make sense, real blazed right now ;)
