Ban considered for Spice Gold

Meh, I enjoyed the stuff for a while, but it became a damn obsession. I'd quite happily never touch the stuff again, tbh.

^ well thats pot. it can get obsessive sometimes :P but seriously, after maybe a year of daily use, NO withdrawal (now i am using rarely). its a psychedelic. ridiculous that it, and other CB agonists are being illegalized

I don't like the idea of anything being banned "for our own good", I just feel kinda dirty for having my dalliances with spice end up turning into what felt like a full blown addiction. Intense cravings for over a week, severe irritability and lack of sleep, and this was just with smoking it in a bong - no tobacco.

There's a new product that's come out in the shops, called 'Magic Silver' which is being sold in bags with only 0.4g (which costs only a few quid). It's good for about four or five joints. It's all over Camden now (came in during the last couple of weeks in the shops). It's damn strong stuff. Anyone heard of it? Sorry, I'm derailing the thread a little...

i feel that my daily use turned into an addiction as well. it took running out of cash then, of course, for me to quit. but once i did, after a couple days, it was all peachy. different people --> different cannabinoid sensitivity and systems i suppose

i would suspect that the people who get the most addicted to cannabinoids have some sort of self-medication they may or may not be aware of, aka they use it for an actual reason, so that is why it is so shitty once they quit

i'd suspect that "moderate" "addiction" often occurs with intellectuals and spiritual people who find much benefit in the plant. but of course, they eventually realize that if they want these benefits, they have to use once or twice a week and avoid high tolerance

It comes packaged in small sealed pouches holding 3g (less than an ounce).

A fuck of a lot les than an ounce 8)

Can anyone tell me what this stuff really is? What exactly will they be making illegal, chemical wise that is?

It's definitely strong, but it certainly is no Spice. I've bought the 400mg samplers and the 3g pouch too. Peak effect lasts about 30 minutes and you're back to baseline in about an hour. It's not worth the money, tbh.

Sorry, should have clarified that the cravings et al were post-cessation.

Never had anything close to that after running out of weed.

^ I thought the JWH's weren't covered under the US Federal Analogue Act as they were not structurally related to any scheduled compounds?

Here in Queensland, Oz, we are fucked though. Our state analogue act is so broad that anything that even makes you 'feel' like you're on a scheduled drug is considered an analogue. :\

The only illegal substance found in Spice or any of these smoking blends is HU-210, which is an explicitly Schedule I synthetic cannabinoid fairly similar in structure to THC.

JWH-* are legal everywhere except the few EU countries that banned them in response to the Spice findings, like Austria, France, and Germany.

I am ASTOUNDED that it took this long for the prohibition of "spice" and similar blends to begin...

That said, there are more chemically dissimilar cannabinoids than you might think, it just takes some reading to find them;)

Why/how did they choose to blend several different cannabinoids together in Spice products? The obvious answer is that the combo is synergistic, but what makes it synergistic? Is it something specific about the pharmacology that determines the subjective effects of the combo?

I'm amazed anyone gets anything from Spice, I found it did absolutely nothing. If they can't be rid of their urge to nanny the rest of us, I'd rather they waste their time and resources on this than on products that actually work. Sucks for the Spice fans though.

Are you a regular/heavy weed smoker? There seems to be more than a little cross-tolerance between weed and spice, IME. My brother is a heavy smoker and got absolutely nothing from spice, whereas I smoke weed sporadically and it certainly did have an effect.

^ Maybe you should get him to try Spice Diamond, which is significantly more potent and is more on a par with reasonable quality skunk. There are other smoking preparations available that aren't perceptively dissimilar from Spice products. The Magic incense I mentioned earlier is even stronger than a lot of good quality weed IMO (of course I do not have access to any resources that would allow me to analyse the pharmacological profile of such smoking mixtures).

Does anyone know what plant(s) they use in Spice products? Obviously it is not the plant material that gets you high and is the synthetic cannabinoids added/sprayed. I've read that analysis has showed that actually there aren't any of plants listed on the packaging present in the product, so I have to assume it is some other sort of plant.

Spice diamond was the one I used most regularly, but I could still easily get effects from both the silver and gold versions too. I know that magic was significantly stronger, as it almost put me on my arse the first couple of times I tried it, I was just disappointed with the duration. Same goes for Genie, and Spice Tropical/Arctic Synergy.
