Pipe or Joint

ya if u get pulled over you cant eat a pipe, but u can eat a blunt.

Haha, that cracks me up. You can't eat a pipe. Idk I think that would hurt your teeth or even break them. Anyways i kinda like smokin out of a bowl or pipe.

Although I rolled a nice joint last night and it hit me like a wall of bricks. I was fucking out of this world. That was some of the best stuff i've ever done.

Pipes are more efficient, and smoking a bowl holds a special place in my heart.

Then again, I love the ritual of rolling a good joint, and it's nice every now and then. If I'm going to roll something up, I prefer to roll a blunt over a joint. Nothing like having a blunt last a good 20-30 minutes, compared to a 5-10 minute joint.

Just my two cents...

What's the diff between a Joint and A blunt? Always thought it was the same thing

Really wonder what you're doin' here if you don't know, but hey, trolling can be fun ;)

A joint is mixture of tobacco and weed rolled up in a paper with some sort of roach at one end. It will make you feel stoned and IMO it's a total waste and a very addictive habit.

A blunt is the same thing without the tobacco but with a cigarleave. Also very wastefull and addictive as the leave is also packed with nasty chemicals (especially if you use flavoured ones) and obviously it's not nicotine free.

So I would recomend a pipe (most practical if you want to take it along), a bong (in case you 'll stay inside) or a vaporizer (if you can afford it). In general I'd say that in case you wanna get high forget about the tobacco or cigar leaves.

^Okay, so now I have to come through and sort things out, as wave jumper is close, but no cigar, and pkt, I'd think you have that backwards, there...

A joint is marijuana rolled up into a cigarette, without any tobacco.

A spliff is a marijuana and tobacco mix rolled up into a cigarette, which I never really saw the point of.

A blunt is marijuana rolled up in the leaf of a cigarillo/cigar(they also have blunt wraps at most convenience stores, as well). Same concept as the joint, but longer-lasting, as the tobacco leaf burns much slower than cigarette paper.

As for hash, I wouldn't be wasting it in a joint.

Much love,

Well the only thing I have is a Pipe, and I just smoked some weed through a pipe, no effect.. sucks, So only joint I guess (spliff)

So I'll continue wasting my time here in an attempt to ... I forgot ;)

Seriously, what have you been smoking? In general I'd say it's not a good idea to make posts when you're under the influence (of no matter what substance). Your reply makes no sense at all.8)

Why is it called joint, because two substances come together, hence a joint. In casu cannabis and tobacco. You're saying it's marihuana rolled up into a cigarette, without tobacco. That is what we call a reefer. Sigh.

A spliff is a marijuana and tobacco mix rolled up into a cigarette, which I never really saw the point of.

Spliff is a german word for joint, poindexter.

Wrong again, it's not the same concept of the joint as there is no tobacco involved. You are right on the fact that it burns slower, but it's still is an extremely wastefull procedure IMO.

Apparently you don't know but here in Europe the majority smokes joints and they make no exception for hash. They just put it on a bed of tobacco and waste their precious hash that way. Still I agree with you that it's wastefull to do so, eventhough you think a reefer is a joint. Hash is obviously best smoked in a pipe, bong or vaporizer.

Last time a reply to some E-tard-like feedback...

What you don't realize, Wave Jumper, is that slang words vary from region to region. In my location (United States), joint is a word for a pure marijuana cigarette, spliff is a word for tobacco and marijuana cigarette, and blunt is a word for marijuana wrapped in a cigar wrapper (tobacco leaf). You were pretty rude in your post if I understood what you meant correctly. If I misinterpreted I apologize.

yup

what about just a straight joint with only weed in it? have you ever thought of that?

Wow, I was just called e-tarded, oh no, I'm going to run and cry. 8) That was pretty rude of you to say, and isn't exactly BL standards. :p

Safety hit it spot on, as indeed, slang does vary from region to region. And yes, I'm from the states.

I'm not sure what your friend has been smoking but my bowl(or better yet, a bong) has always treated me better, given the same kind of weed in each. Passing around a joint can have a certain social feeling, but probably won't get you as stoned on as little of pot.

I must side with S&R89, not very PLUR of Wave Jumper.

I can count on one hand how many times I smoked weed, so by no means am I an expert on this subject. That said, I've always believed a joint to be rolling mj up in a cigaratte paper. I even have one of those nifty paper rolling machines. =D

I fully understand what you're saying, but even when the entire population of the American continent is now applying the word joint to re(e?)fer to a pure weed stick, even then I still believe that linguistically it makes no sense. Because "joint" comes from "joining" and I don't see what substances are joining each other in a reefer? Ok, you could say it's called a joint because you probably will share it with others, so you invite them to join. But I don't think that is what it's about in this case. I believe that what you call a joint should be named reefer or (pure weed) stick.

In the end this is quite an irrelevant discussion and the most important thing is that in America most ppl smoke their marihuana without adding tobacco. The whole misunderstanding is IMO created because of this difference in usage on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

'bout the rudeness: please don't take it too seriously, my only intend is to make some virtual friends in here ;). Ok, I admit I might have been a little too hasty and I appologize for that. I just couldn't and still can't get how someone could believe a joint consists of only one substance especially when English is their mother tongue. So when he said I had it up side down I actually thought there was a possibility he was just saying this to provoke me (like a troll would do). Adding to that the fact that this person's nickname is "stonedandrolling89" I assumed the worst, but I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions too fast.
Now I understand his response was sincere, so I appologize for my harshness. :|

Also I didn't knew that you had to be a PLUR-adept to make posts in here. To me PLUR is something for ppl who lost contact with planet earth and started floating.

"Joint" seems to have come to its present meaning via a very circuitous route that started with the 19th-century American word "joinery," which referred to a specific part of a building. By the early 1800s "joint" had become a building; in 1870 it was used for betting parlors, in 1890 for opium dens, and by 1920 it was an addict's term for drug-related paraphernalia. "Stoned" appears to be as much of a mystery to etymologists as it is to me and you. If you're in the mood for some irresponsible conjecture, I'll pin the usage to the battered physical condition of one who has been physically stoned, as with real rocks. Alternately, the derivation might have something to do with the 19th-century pub libation known as the "stone fence," a mixture of brandy and ale.

also I just hate it when there is some weed sitting there and we have a pipe but someone insists on rolling a joint and takes for fucking ever. grrrr

Not if you're good at rolling them. If you get the technique down, you can roll a good joint within 5 seconds of loading a bowl...

I'm going to have to disagree with almost everyone here.... and almost all my friends. If you roll it good and tight, and don't use too much weed (don't roll a blimp), nothing is better than sitting around and passing a good joint (ok, well a blunt is better but we're not talking about those). Much more relaxing. I do agree, though - I hate it when people who suck at rolling joints insist on rolling them, and they turn out all shitty even though the spent like two whole fucking minutes on it. Take the time to learn how to do it properly!

BUT - I do agree that if you only have .3g, use a bowl...
