Using only Ice in a bong.

Im thinking of smoking some weed tonight when everyone goes to bed. I do it quite often and its no trouble. However, I just got this new bong I wanna try, I dont want to wake anyone with the bubbling tho, especially my sister who is a little bit too young. Parents wont kick up too much of a fuss. Anyway, by using ice alone, I wont have the bubbling noise and I think it would make the smoke alot smoother than the pipe I usually use. What do you think?

But seriously, it'll be nice and smooth but without liquid it's gonna have that dry edge to it. Bubbling ain't that loud dude where are you smoking like right next to the lil sis?
 
LOL this is halarious.

How fucking loud do you think the bubbling of a bong is dude? I mean if your so close to your parents and sis that you will wake them up with the bubbling, chances are your gonna hotbox them too hahahahha.
 
You could maybe hear it in the next room if the door is open, but a bong is not going to wake up someone in the next room.

Ice would be quiet and smooth though. But if it were me I'd worry about making too much noise while getting ice cubes out of the freezer before I''d worry about the bubbling of water.

Unless your parents like to bum weed off you...

JsNRs, I say go for the ice. I've done it with a pretty large bong (26 inch) and a large stack of ice

It was smooth
 
This is my preferred method of smoking bongs. (Try with snow AWESOME) however +1 to all those that said you aren't at much risk of waking anyone.
 
If you fill it completely with ice it should work great!! But really bubbling is NOT that loud. I used to have to hide it and I thought it was really loud but thats only because my face is right infront of it.. I realize by now bubbling isn't loud.

If the bubbling IS too loud then you can try putting in abit less water or toke it softer so its not such a ferocious bubble. When I hid it and thought bubbling was loud I would sometimes sit on my bed under my blanket so I could toke hard instead of softly! :P
 
Bubbling isn't very loud. It's not like people are like "hmm I know that bubbling sound, tis the sound of a bong!" people will either think it is snoring or the furnace or something.

i made a waterpipe with a demi john once up in my bedroom. i had wooden floorboards.

when i fired it up the bubbling was so intense and loud, like someone hammering on the floor.

i stripped it to its component parts in seconds. i then tried using it in a derelict building and it attracted the attention of some under 10 y.o.'s

they stared and said it was a bomb. this was when the ira was bombing mainland britain. i quickly took it to bits and left the demi john behind.

so j&r how big is your bong? cos big bongs make a big noise.
 
id say that probably the sound of the lighter is going to be about as loud as bubbling 8o ... that being said it WILL be smoother %)
 
Ice, little bit of water and play some music. Music will drown it out. I mean not blast it but I think it helps. Maybe it's all in my head, lol.

Gee willikers batman, I KNOW THAT SOUND!!! <-- first thing that came to mind >.>

I love ice in the bong, but put enough water so it bubbles a little at least. Only problem with a billy full of ice is when your half way through the sess and wondering why your shirts soaked...only to realise your ice is now water...and its leaking out the shotty.. :P
 
Close the door. It would only wake up a very light sleeper with the door open anyways.
