How You Perceive Reality (When Stoned)

This is kind of an odd question i was wondering.
How do each of you think, see, and hear things from reality when you're stoned? How do you function (mentally) in social situations? And, finally, how do you feel, mentally and physically, when stoned overall?

Thanks for any answers!
Peace

I smoke, but not very often so usually when I do smoke it is a fairly large amount and I get really high. When I am like this, I become really weird and other people notice it. This is an example that happened to me and told by a friend. We were smoking and passing around a few joints of some high-grade weed. By the 3rd joint I was done, so we decided to clean up a bit and go get something to eat. Instead of going with them, I just sat on the couch staring off not saying a word. I wasn't really saying anything and I was just too lazy to even get food. Now, when this was occurring I felt like a dick because while other people were cleaning up the table we had shit on, I just sat there. The thing was, I really wanted to help out, but I really couldn't make myself do it.

This also falls under your topic. While everyone was high we got onto the conversation that sometimes when you smoke with friends you think that they aren't high and they are just going along with you like its a joke. I have felt this before, even though it was obviously not true.

^^^ Hahaha. If that was refering to Half Baked (I think it was) then it was very funny.

When Im stoned and I watch Tv or doing random stuff I always have to think back and re-evaluate the situation almost as If im not sure that it really happened. It usually has tho lol.

in terms of thinking, abstract becomes more concrete. in terms of seeing, nothing really changes except eyes grow red. in terms of hearing, music sounds way better and faint noises are more intense. i find i'm a lot more sociable when high...

in sober social situations, i have a hard time getting interested in small talk so my mind is wandering so far from the conversation that it becomes unavoidably obvious that i'm bored. alcohol typically stops thoughts from wandering far, but it comes at the cost of coherence. herb, on the other hand, puts my mind in a more elevated state where i can keep track of my wandering thoughts at the SAME TIME as i'm focusing and contributing to whatever discussion i'm a part of.

in other words, i'm effectively able to be IN the moment as well as oversee/analyze the moment, a sensation which i liken to the buddhist "awakening."

how do i feel while high on average? elated, comfortable, interested, hungry, introspective, extroverted... wonderful :)

i have had anxiety problems, which often get amplified while stoned, sometimes in public. i am very into exploring the depths of the human psyche and often times find my self being so wierded out by my own existance that life doesnt seem worth livin, but then i realise im being a bitch and life pretty much owns

I definitely have to agree with you here, Thujone...

I'm retarted well actully I'm retarded when I'm not high so I guess I'm the same as not high well maybe a bit slower and hungryier .

sometimes i hear jesus speak to me after finishing that bong 8o

no, but really alot of the time im absolutely astounded as to the way my mind wanders and process things while high its like switching computers, thujone nailed it with most of what he said but slightly different for the social aspect of it. I love to pick and pry at peoples minds with all kinds of questions or sometimes it will be more chill and relaxed.

but their is definitely a sense of the "bigger picture" while high its like my day is a chessboard or even multiple ones to where it figures out all the possible outcomes for any possible situation that may arise that day all without barely even a thought:)

Smoking with my best friends in the woods I get very euphoric and motivated. We come up with awesome childish ideas, usually very creative, and actually carry them out. Very fulfilling, they stay in my memory the way a psychedelic trip does. Zero anxiety too.

When I'm pulling a typical smoke and watch TV, eat junk food with the homies, I get kinda self conscious and anxious (physically anxious, tense). I think too fast, and not in the good way like with LSD, I flood my head with annoyances. I really don't like smoking in situations like that, especially when someone starts playing radio rap FUCK that garbage pisses me off.

lately when i smoke i wonder off into thought patterns about why we are here, meaning of life etc. and sometimes when i do have those sorts of thoughts my perception on some things change, like small issues don't bother me as much when im stoned because im thinking of "the bigger picture". this is not always though, just some recent thoughts ive had in my last couple of sessions

I perceive everything like I'm really baked.

Nah though weed makes me perceive the world from a more neutral position, and thats why I think like thats why thinks could impact you more when your high. Or less at the same time, who knows.
