A MAN has been arrested at a Sydney post office after picking up a parcel allegedly containing two kilograms of heroin.

Law enforcement officers from the Joint Asian Crime Group arrested the 25-year-old man at Broadway post office at 11.45am on Friday.

The parcel contained three blocks wrapped in electrical tape and denim jeans. Forensic tests are being conducted to determine the purity of the alleged heroin, which police estimate has a street value of $2.1 million.

The man was charged with drug importation and possession. He was refused bail and was due to appear in Parramatta Local Court yesterday.

 
2 kilos that are worth 2.1 million? that does not sound right to me, kilos sure as hell don't cost a million a piece, lol.
 
Gotta love law enforcement agencies' weakness worldwide to exaggerate the value of drug seizures.

(Please read the other article I posted in DITM today entitled "Heroin seizures:name your own price" all about a British army seziure of opium earlier this week and the outrageously exaggerated estimate they gave concerning its value.... very amusing reading)
 
I'm all for exaggeration of the profits of the drug trade.

If anything, that will make the government think twice about legalization.
 
yeah getting drugs in ausi seems to be a BITCH, someone really needs to find some local stock down there and discover a spider or something that makes you trip balls, importing everything sucks =p

The British EMpire was built on opium man, read some of The Politics of Heroin which is an ace book if youfancy some good info. The other week Royal Marines busted an alledged £50 million worth of skag in Afghanistan, i'd have been showing bricks of that shit in bergen or anywhere i could. If anyone wants to send gear in the post i workfor Roayl Mail lol ;)
 
Haha, I love how police fabricate the prices to look good in papers/reports, as if they busted something huge every time. I find they generally price coke at $100 a gram [regardless of how much there is, even in the kilos], and recently a dude got busted with like 50 percs and 7 oxys and they said it was $2,500.

Serious. I was watching Al Roker report on heroin the other day and he had what the DEA guy told him was $2mil. Then he said it was a kilo. That works out to a little more than $2,000 a gram.
