You can mess with seeds if you want, but there are MANY reasons it is better to go with pods.

As for craft stores, you can certainly try to find them if you want. Two problems though... you have to make sure they haven't been treated with pesticides or preservatives, and you have to make sure they are the right kind. Not all poppy pods are created equal, and the manager at Micheal's might look at you funny if you ask, "Now are these papaver somniferum?"
 
from what ive read i dont want seeds either but i want to try this out with out giving up my credit card number

how well do they grow in illinois you think? i got a nice little garden that gets put to use barely i figure they would grow pretty good
 
^^ I can't say for sure, as I've never grown them myself, but I have heard they are really easy to grow and thrive nearly everywhere.
 
yeah and i read somewhere a certain 'wal-ton' owned store sells hens and chicks seeds....but that might have been an old archive post
 
personally i think i might make a seperate thread about the growing and hope for the majority to see it and answer before it gets moved back over here
 
k i just tried simply grinding the pods than mixing with grapefruit juice and drinking...not nearly as bad as i thought it would be...also how the fuck are you guys plugging your tea? boiling it down to a reasonable level or just using an enema bag??
 
just an update on the method of taking pods described above. it does work and quite well. i mixed 3 large spoonfuls of powdered pods with around 500ml grapefruit juice and chugged away. i had to drink about 3 full drinks as my dose for pods is currently about 45-50 grams. this time it was likely less prob around 30-35 grams (i did not weigh as it was the last of my gigantic box of 500 pods) and i got just as high if not higher than normal and nothing was different except that i consumed the entire pod instead of just the water from a usual steeping. i always take grapefruit juice and other boosters like dyphenhydramine and chew some tums before consuming the tea so the potentiation was not the factor that made me higher. it looks like i found my new favorite route of ingestion for pods. anyone who does the whole steeping in water thing should definately give this a try because it does work wonders IME.
 
So lemme ask....if I say use 3 cups of water per 7 med sized pods. What amount do u save and have to use by plugging....for us anal virgins???

They will grow pretty much anywhere, except not so well, IIRC, in winter weather. The ony thing you have to be careful of is that they grow like crazy and will spread. Keep them maintained and don't let them start creeping in your neighbors yard.
 
would americans REALLY notice someone growing opium poppies, and report them?


I mean, in the UK they are legal, so it is a non-issue,
but most people wouldn't have a clue that those flowers were opium poppies.
that includes 90% of the people growing them.


In the summer, people have busted me harvesting poppies from their front gardens.
a lot of them didnt believe me that they were growing opium =P
but they were =]

I've never had any problem ordering pods from suppliers on a certain online auctionhouse. There is nothing illegal about buying floral decorations. If you really want to be on the poppy pod d/l I suppose you can buy a refillable credit card and use that. But honestly, it's not like the cops are going to kick down your doors to send you to prison for a couple dozen dried flowers.

Sorry about that.

Let's just say, without being more specific, that it's easy to get pods and, to the best of my knowledge, nobody has been arrested for buying a couple dozen or even a couple hundred. This isn't even buying valiums from an overseas pharmacy: this is purchasing floral decorations. So long as you don't advertise the fact you're purchasing it for poppy straw, things appear to be copacetic with the DEA. So I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over someone tracking your pod purchases.

(If you start liking them too much, you may wind up losing sleep over your habit... but that's another story altogether).
 
someone was telling me there is a way to make opium by cooking down pods into putty on stove... does this work? and how does it compare to the conventional opium that is cut and scraped
 
There is a guide on making a form of pod putty you can smoke somewhere in this thread. Personally I think the amount of work that goes into create it is a bit more than I'd want to do, but others would disagree.

more effort than emptying the pods you have of seeds,
and getting high from the pods, while you wait for the seeds to grow,
anticipating your soon-to-be self-sustainable supply of both pods and raw opium (to which nothing compares).
