dahhh that wouldv been madddd fun!! my parents left for the northern territory (to live) on saturday and they took their boat, i didnt even get one more go out on it :( soo sad cause its a madddd boat!! damn it!

Haha we were in a cool mexican restaurant in France. The resort was les saisies, a very very good resort. Just a tad expensive though, but a major highlight was coming down a nice blue slope through the woods with the whole 22 of us, kids parents and everything :D

Off piste skiing is the bomb, I find it so hard in my racing skis though unfortunately. They're too long and mad parabolic, makes sharp turns and controlling speed a nightmare and in the thick bush, you CAN NOT be going too fast, lol, or you get a tree between the legs. I'm definitely going to pick up some twin tip K2s next year as I don't race anymore and I'm quite sick of just carving down the hill going as fast as I can.

How long you been boarding? What do you ride? I snowboard a bit but I'm not very good yet so I stick to skiing.

Was in Austria two winters ago skiing out of Innsbruck, they have some amazing hills out there and it wasn't too expensive, though it was a school trip so that may have helped cut down the price. Still one of the best 2 weeks of my life, I love Europe, what a great place compared to North America in pretty much every way! So many languages and cultures, it is just awesome!

I always ski alone though...my partner is only just learning so I leave him to his lessons and go carve it up by myself ;)

Yesterday I was stuck skiing with a group of about 8 snowboarders, I was the only skier, and only knew one person who is a good buddy. They were all talking shit as we went up the gondola (hope you can keep up, skier, we ain't waiting around) and shit, lol. I had to wait for them for at least 3 minutes at the bottom (and I waited for them to do up their bindings I didn't just take off obviously, lol). Wound up being just me and my buddy for most of the day because those cocky snowboarders were slow as fuck and couldn't handle powder/off-piste at all, lol.

I was so happy I was like 5x better than them with the shit they talked, lol, oh and when I didn't blaze in the gondola they're all like, fucking pussy skiers! Lol, fuck them, dicks!

K2's site is so slow...I'll try and get a picture up of the skis I'm looking at for next year when I can.

I been boarding now 5 years, but thats just 6 holidays if you get me? You seem to progress alot faster on a board than with ski's. By the end of my first week snowboarding i was able to make it down a Black run without falling over once, what that says for my balance i don't know lol

hehe i know exactly how you feel, i found it really hard to get going but its just comes on in leaps and bounds after you finally click.

It will be brill for you when you partner get its and you can go rip up some piste together, Goood times %)
 
All this talk about snowboarding is making me want to go. I fell numerous times when I first went, but it was a lot of fun. I have not done it since.
 
Man, there is nothing quite like ripping down some fresh powder on a board as fast as is humanly possible. Makes you feel good to be alive.
