Well boys and girls, winter has come around again to us in the northern hemisphere,l and with it comes really cold weather...

So in this time of chilly hands and nipping winds how do you guys light yourselves?

Im having a lot of trouble recently... Any advice to lighting a lighter in winter, or any alternatives?
 
use matches. cup your hand and put the match head on the inside.press it against the sandpaper with your thumb and then cup the flame in your hand. only way to light a joint on a chair lift.
 
Get one of those butane lighters. I bet you could light one of those things under water, hahaha
 
Ask your bud to open his coat and shield the wind and light. If you're alone face away from the wind or use a torch windproof lighter but only hold it for a second as higher temperatures can vaporize the thc before you can inhale it.
 
Lighters dont work well when they are cold. Keep your lighter close to your body. Butane windproof lights work well.
 
i hate smoking outside in the winter. zippos work really well as long as you keep it in your pants pocket (so the fluid stays warm)

Yup. I live in the land of ungodly winds, so my butane torch is a permanent fixture of my coat pocket for outside smoking. But really, once the temperature reaches a certain point, I only need lighters outside when my roommate wants to go out for a cigarette, otherwise I just shut the door to my room and smoke whatever substance I feel like (my other roommate doesn't like us smoking cigs inside, but my general philosophy for life is "hell with that guy").

But those butane lighters... get a good one, and it'll make fire (almost) no matter what. Just be careful lighting a bowl with one.

the chimney isn't protective enough, none of my zippos stand up to serious winds and the wicks are all different sizes too. there are companies selling jet lighter inserts for zippos. can't light em off your jeans but it also won't impart a fluid taste to your j.

honestly, a good jet lighter is worth it's weight in gold. and they're heavy too, which not only makes you more of a man than a pansy plastic bic but if you need to defend yourself a torch wrapped in your palm will give you a more forceful punch than using a bic would ever. plus, they'll light up in a fucking hurricane. what more needs to be said? a quality piece from a cigar shop is not a purchase you'd regret.

Fuck winter smoking, I love winter but I hate smoking outside in winter because the cold makes it impossible to feel the high. Take knife hits indoors is what I do.
 
This is why my jacket has a thick hood lol, wind can't go through it for shit, suprisingly tho, its stopped snowing for almost a month now, and this is supposed to be bigtime snow right now. Look at what you did al gore!

Don't you enjoy smoking outside, the nice cool air makes the tokes smooth, and ya you don't feel it, until you go inside, get a nice drink and some munchies throw on a movie, and BAM it hits you, that joint just floored your ass.
 
I love the part where you never stop exhaling smoke, which is really just because of the cold air. First time that happened to me I thought I was gonna die from excess smoke inhalation, god I was dumb

Dude, i to am from this ice hell of a state of minnesota and its truly freezing balls outside its like -18 down in the citys
