iv or im diphenhydramine

i have a bottle of it, has anybody used this drug through injection before? what is the difference in effect between iv and im?
 
Its not a drug you want to inject on its own. Maybe with some opiates. Unless your looking for a delerious high that totally sucks balls. Save it for a time when you have some opiates and want to potentiate the high.
 
Are you talking about benedryl pills . If so I would say neither . Even if what you have is in solution or is a pure powder why on earth would you want to get high on diphenhydramine. Sometimes i use 50 mg orally to potentiate opiates but thats it. Taking large doses by itself is very unpleasant. be safe.
 
I one time took 1000 mgs of diphenhydramine . HUGE mistake I was seeing people that werent there hearing voices and I was just an all around nervous wreck. I can just imagine this is similar to what schizophrenia must feel like. Avoid large doses at all costs 8o
 
no this is a bottle of diphenhydramine hcl injection, usp rx only, if i were to use it to fall asleep at night at about 75 mg range what is the difference in onset of action between iv and im administration?
 
I'd imagine IV to have a much quicker onset.
Not sure how much duration would be effected but it's not something that matters too much as you'd be falling asleep fairly quickly I'd imagine.
 
im not looking to get high from it, but it would be worthwhile to me if i could fall asleep instantly at times.
 
Drink some warm milk, stop taking amphetamines right before bed, read.....i just don't see the need in IV"ng benadryl before sleep just so you can sleep.
 
i could take the seroquel i have for my insomnia but i don't like it's effects. actually it is similar to benadryl. they both put me to sleep at a certain dose. seroquel usually takes about an hour and thirty minutes to work.

won't make you fall asleep instantly.
I had diphenhydramine injected after an allergic reaction, felt very weird. Felt like my skin felt all slimy like chewed up gum. Overall, I had like 250mg of diphenhydramine that night between the hospital and whatnot. Wasn't enjoyable.

For me I found it impossible to wake up in the morning after taking seroquel to get to sleep.
 
ewwww 75mg is a little to much to take to sleep. Since your IVing it it will be much more potent that just taking 75mg(3 benedryl) pills. I think 75mgs IV might actually cause some odd effects (some minor twichy like visuals, black/white translusant things crawlin all over the rugs and such)
 
It would only be 14% more potent (it's Bioavailability is 86% ).
50mg would do the trick.

Sometimes lack of sleep is so frustrating and fucks you up so much that you would do almost anything to get some. I don't see what's so bad about it to be honest.
And besides, you're not the one doing it, he is. All he wants is information, not someone telling him that they would rather inject gorilla shit :|

Opiatesrarely - It doesn't really potentiate it, purely has a form of synergy with the sedatory effect of Opiates.
It wouldn't effect the taper plan at all really, just help them sleep.

DpH potentiation in conjunction with opiates has two aspects, to my knowledge: 1) it competes for the same metabolic enzyme, 2) the H1 receptor modulates, to some degree, circadian rhythms.

you may be right. i used to take benadryl to fall asleep 50 mgs at night and then before i knew it i needed up to 150 mgs maybe 200mgs (6or8 pills) a night to fall asleep, i knew i needed help. i dont use benadryl anymore but it would interest me to fall asleep on demand almost with a ml or two of diphen.

im worried though that i may get tardive akasthia, since ive gotten it before with benadryl. well i also get it with seroquel....
 
I had that last night and it is fucking awful :( Took 150mg of Promethazine, which I've taken before but it was in conjunction with an Opiate in one form or another so that may have prevented it. But without an Opiate or Benzo it's just asking for it :\

If you're that worried you could just use the solution orally. It would work well enough.
