it varies. usually when im on E. sometimes if gas is real cheap, i'll buy some even if im at half a tank or more. i've never ran out of gas either *knock knock*
 
aw man, i meant to make it say "when do you gas up?" not how often.


oh wells. hopefully people will get the point.
 
Anywhere between 1/4 tank and below E.

If I have money when I hit 1/4 tank, I'll get it then, otherwise I just hope I don't run out before payday.
 
Depends on the price. If it's on an upward climb, I'll hold out, but if it happens to drop then I'll refill at 1/2 tank to take advantage.
 
the reason i wanted to create this was because i was hanging out with a classmate today and he was like " oh, im below half a tank i gotta stop and get gas".

i didnt say anything, but all i can think of is what the fuck is wrong with this dude? you "need" gas when your at half a tank?

it seems so wierd to me, and now that its winter i dont want to get out of my car and pump gas unless i ACTUALLY need it not just for the hell of it.

its killing me thinking about it.

your fuel pump is in a "net" it has a screen, and you have a fuel filter on the fuel line, not to mention that fuel injectors have screens in them too.
im not worried about it.
 
so wait. since the gauge goes down slower for the first half-tank, do you actually use less gas? or the same amount all the time, but the gauge goes down faster for the last quarter tank, like some sorta crazy CrAzY clock?


i've always been wondering that...

lol speaking of running out of gas....I am in Oregon right now for work this week. Tonight one of the guys picks me up to take me to dinner. He has a really nice camaro...he is showing me the speed and all of a sudden we start slowing down. We ran out of gas. Totally hilarious, I couldnt stop laughing and he was so embarassed.
 
heh, i've ran out of gas more than once. wtf?@!! who would think i'd do something like that? more than once? lol. not like i'm scatterbrained or something. i don't know what got into me that times. well, those times. once was like literally less than two miles past an exit. my now ex-husband woke up and was like "Why did we stop?" and I was like "Iono!" and he looked over and started laughing. He wasn't the first. The cop who stopped to help was like "Really? One mile past exit?" But i swear, it was someone elses van, and the fucking gas light never came on, and the gas dial was in a really retarded and unnoticeable part of the dash- like below eye level and not right next to the speed thing.

second time i had no excuse. i'm not gonna go there right now.
 
generally i don't get gas till my car doesn't want to start and i have to park at a downward angle just to start it again to get gas.
i'm usually broke.

also, my fuel light has only ever come on once, and i've run out of gas like twice while driving, and like 3 times when i was trying to start the car to go get gas. bummer, right?
i'm an idiot, but in a civic, i get reeeeaaallly good mileage, even on fumes, so whatever.


i would never *need* gas when it was still a half tank, unless the gas station started throwing rainbow-colored signs at me that said "IT'S ONLY FIFTY CENTS, JUST TOP IT OFF ALREADY!!!!"

because when i still have a half tank left, it's grounds for dancing.
