MDMA, that was my only choice. I would have no problem with legalised ecstasy in controlled environments (see http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=358433) but considering BL'ers are supposed to represent the informed users, yet they frequently abuse this drug, I'd have to recommend some limit on freedom to travel with the drug.

Cocaine, ketamine, amphetamine - all are great substances but - particularly in the case of ketamine, I think people should undergo an education course before being allowed access to it.

Lol - the very idea! But there really could be no way that those ignorant in the effects of these drugs should be allowed near them. Legalise the 2C-x family? I really cant see that working out well...

In the case of limited legalisation, I'd recommend harsher custodial sentences for those under the influence whilst involved in public disturbances or using forementioned substances in a public place.

Easily marijuana and opium.. not so much the rest, except for research chemicals.. as far as I know, there's some places where you can still purchase research chemicals such as 2C-I.

As much as I would love to legalize the rest, I know damn well the drug isn't going to be the same once it's legalized.

Total legalization, even for drugs that I personally abhor like meth. The problems that drugs create are magnified by criminalization. If you really want to help drug users, legalize all drugs so that there's a pure supply and open and honest dialogue. Banning drugs doesn't make them disappear, it just puts profits in the hands of organized crime and hurts users!

Think of it this way...

What commonly abused psychoactive drugs are legal, by prescription or not, and promoted by our government?

Opiates, Alcohol, and benzodiazepines are the main three that come to mind....

Secondly, what commonly used/abused psychoactive drugs are illegal, and carry the worst criminal charges?

Psychedelics, like LSD, magic mushrooms, peyote, research chemicals...

Are you seeing the trend?? The legal drugs all have depressent effects, while the drugs that carry the worst charges have mind expanding properties, and can easily promote higher thinking.

Our government is trying to suppress free thinking! Uncle Sam doesn't want people to have higher thoughts. They're aiming for 100 percent complacency.

^ Let us not forget that Bluelight is an international community, and many drugs are still legal in many countries.

This is a discussion I fully plan on contributing to at another time. For the record I still stand by my choice of total legalization.

Alcohol is legal and can cause so many problems (i.e., DUI related fatalities, domestic violence, pregnancy and STDs, alcohol poisoning, disorderly conduct, etc). Why isn't pot legal? It would definatly cause an increase in dorito profits, and maybe an increase in Comedy Central viewing, but thats about it. I understand why a lot of mood altering chemicals are illegal, but I see a major inconsistency with alcohol being legal and marijuana being illegal

in fact, there should never be someone in jail for any victimless crime.

I also agree with this, and support decriminalization as described above. I don't think that being caught with drugs for personal use should lead to jail time, but I do understand that drug use can lead to other crimes (i.e., stealing televisions from your parents, credit fraud, general robbery, etc.) and that is not acceptable behavior.

I have said before that heroin is not my problem...running out of it is.

Here's a person who knows the scene....

I woulds be dissapointed to see PCP marketed and produced as a recreational drug though. I think its posession should be legal, but it shouldnt be marketed for that purpose.

If all drugs were legal, there isn't going to be much of a market for PCP.

Im in favor of legalization of all drugs right across the board. Who the hell has the right to tell anyone what they can put in their body?

Pot and psychedelics definitely should be legal, but anything that's potentially addictive should continue to be kept in check.

hey, guess what? pot's addictive. legalize all drugs, who are you (govt) to tell me wat i can or cannot put in my own body, when the only person im effecting is myself

We need a new psychadellic not yet on any drug enforcers radars on par with LSD/Mushrooms/Mesc/2C-B and use it as a platform to get all mind expanding drugs legalized. IMO, if LSD was legal now instead of in the 60s, and they were going to pass something to try to illegalize it, due to the mass access of knowledge thus eliminating more and more ignorance I don't think it would be illegalized, and if it were then massive movements would take place. IMO, with the right facts etc. in theory it should be easier to have certain psychs made legal before pot, because you really can't get addicted to them and if you can provide proof of their mind expanding properties then well..... anything else is an injustice in my book.

bullshit, that would be nice if people actually the drugs a chance, but the way the DEA works is as soon as any drug becomes popular, it as instantly reconized as a threat and emererncy sch.'ed....foxy (5-meo-dipt) comes to mind... we dont even know anything about these research chemcials, yet there instantly made illegal...the government doesnt care, as long as u can get high or expand your consciousness, its illegal

Drug legalization is a touchy subject. Outright legalization wouldn't solve all the problems people attribute to the "war on drugs," and it CERTAINLY would create a whole new set of problems to deal with.

You mean like when the govt prohibited the consumption of alcohol? And it gave organized crime 1 more outlet to make big $$$?
Then FDR repealed Prohibition & took away that source of income for La Cosa Nostra. What was the "whole new set of problems to deal with" then? Oh yeah, recreational drugs!! Another new source of income for organized crime!! :\
