Lean Blunts: Yay or Nay?

I was curious if anyone had any information on whether dipping blunts in promethazine/codeine offered any effects?

I think the effects are minimal if not entirely placebo, but my buds swear by lean blunts.
 
I think the main side effect would be to make your blunt taste like powdered pig shit. Codeine works because first-pass metabolism in your liver turns it into morphine, and I have to wonder whether or not the codeine would get destroyed at smoking temperatures. If they're getting an effect, it's the placebo effect. ;)

Drink your syrup like god intended.
 
Codeine is destroyed at relatively low temperatures. If they were to dip it in very potent poppy tea, then yes they would get something. Or if they smeared opium on the edge to seal it, then yes. But liquid codeine? no.
 
Ehh I have done it before didnt get any effects other then pot and maybe a lil dizzy. seems like it would be really unhealthy for your lungs
 
This is a pretty dumb idea. Codeine gets destroyed by pretty low heat so you arent going to get any opiate buzz at all. Your wasting all that codeine which is just total drug abuse in my opinion. I have no idea what temperature promethazine is destroyed at but i can't see a anti-histamine being any fun without a opiate since anti-histamines are not recreational by themselves.

Also your going to make the blunt taste like fucking shit and you would have to wait for it to dry out before smoking it. Just drink the syrup like your supposed to then go smoke a big fat joint. I liked taking codeine before smoking a joint because when the codeine kicked in i could take huge draws off the joint and not cough much at all.

Ive never had that lean shit because it's only a US thing and mostly a southern US thing at that. You can get promethazine syrup here in canada OTC apparently and much to my surprise but i have no idea if it comes in combination with codeine even by prescription. I don't think it does.
 
smoke the blunt and drink your nasty syrup if you really have the urge to do codeine then walk up to whatever cub scout bud of yours told you this was a good idea and back hand his ass for a good few times.

& i thought people were dumb trying to smoke raw cocaine out of blunts?
 
assuming that its even remotely effective to smoke codeine, think of how much cough syrup it takes to get a buzz off that stuff. theres no way you could get a blunt to soak up that much syrup and still be smokable. chalk it up to placebo.
 
God no! A few of my boys are convinced this works and have taken to putting that shit in thier weed all the time, coating there bowls with it and then packing it, etc.
Its a great way to loose friends, though.

Fuck the monkeys. Ive gotten IV dimenhydrinate through a drip and it still gave me the same shitty feeling that it does without a opiate. When demerol was added to the mix things improved alot =D .

Funny but now i can't stand demerol either. Must be my sizable morphine and oxycodone habit making the opiate effects of demerol basically useless.
 
I've always leaned away from smoking things unless they're primarily smoked. I never feel altered after smoking it anyways, but some people swear by it.
 
wow, whats going on with drugs being abused these days. first off, codeine is not that great of an opiate to begin with, why do so many people think that well if you can swallow it you can smokez it. Just take what dosage you want of the codeine/promethazine (orally) and smoke your blunt when the deine is kicking in. sheesh8)
