There was a punk revival happening, but Johnny just wanted to retire before they got into their fifties. Which is punk as fuck really.

Really enjoyed that.I'd usually avoid anything that mentions Leeds, but I ended up zoning out and waiting for more bass to kick in.

not read this KLF book, do they talk about their stupid burning £1M stunt?

I'm not a fan of motley crue but their book is an epic read, talks about touring with ozzy where his wife tries to stop him drinking by taking all his clothes from the hotel room, so he wanders down to the pool wearing 1 of her dresses and gets into a who can out rock star each other competition with Nikki that ends in ozzy snorting a line of ants, Nikki responds by pissing on the floor intending to lick it up, but ozzy beats him to it.

They did live to regret the stunt. Similar stuff had already been done in the art world, but they committed to it.

I've watched the (boring) film, and once they realise what they're doing, it startled them.

By far the better stunt was the K Foundation art award. The award was £40000, whilst the Turner Prize was £20000.

The KLF prize was for 'worst artist'. They awarded it to the Turner Prize winner, Rachel Whiteread. They tried to present it to her, before attempting to burn it, whereupon she decided to accept it.
