One of the "Customer Service" agents I have to deal with at a certain vendor is a total piece of work, and it's all I can do to bite my tongue, virtually speaking. I wish I'd screen grabbed our previous conversation so that I could upload it here, as it was just a total headfuck! I'm sure he must have been fucking with me. His latest reply in his latest failure to help me with an account related and payment related issue was words to the effect of that I needed to stop asking for his help as he needed to get on with his work. And then he went offline! What a total fucking areshole!
Christ did I want to say "YOUR WORK!"
"And what is that exactly? Oh yes - Would that happen to be Customer Service?"
"And that means providing service to customers who need it? Am I not a customer (who's spent well over 4 figures with them) who needs service!?" If only I could do a sarcastic Rowan Atkinson voice, and convey that via the medium of text!
For better or worse, I bit my tongue, and did not say any part of any of that. Sometimes phrasing things like that in the right way can prick the consciousnesses or pride in their jobs, of some people, but this guy does not seem to have any of those finer attributes, or any customer related empathy, or any relevant skills, or even the slightest comprehension of what it means to provide decent customer service. The last time I heard, it does not involve saying to customers 'go away, I need to get on with my work!'
The amount of utter bullshit emails they send out about how customers like me mean the world to them and they'd love my feedback.
Jesus, it makes me sick.
If I didn't need them because they have the products, at the doses, and the prices I need, Christ I'd so love to give that cunt a piece of my mind.
Does anyone else have, or have had similar issues either online or IRL with their vendors or dealers?
As far as I can recall most vendors I've dealt with have been fine to excellent, it's just more recently they're getting worse and worse imho.
It seems to me that they are now scraping the bottom of the barrel, both in terms of the quality of stock many of them sell, and in terms of the people that are working in many of these businesses these days.
I guess it's a fairly common "power play" that some low lifes use in these sort of supplier - customer relationships.
I guess I could try to empathise with that guy a little, he surely can't be doing that job because that's what he always wanted to do. I know customer service jobs truly fucking suck, I've done more than my fair share of them, but even at the times I hated them the most I did a better job than that!
It's certainly an opportunity for me to practice a more Stoic mindset, in terms of controlling my own reactions better, and also adopting a more solution orientated mindset would probably be helpful, but I cant wait to be rid of having to deal with pricks like this. You get the feeling it's quite deliberate attempts to push buttons sometimes. Unless the guy just has zero self awareness and very low IQ and EQ. Or just has a complete zero fucks given attitude about being like that.
But in the meantime I'll try again tomorrow, with hopefully my patience and positivity in a better place.
