PC PC Gamers - Whatcha playin?

do ya'll use conrollers or the keyboard?

Im sorry that is prolly some 090 shit but I have to ask as the n64 controller was too much for me --- I dont think I could do a keyboard?

Two people of equal skill are playing one on a controller one on a keyboard --- does either have an advantage? (Sorry im old lol)

depends on the game. FPS sucks with a controller because you can't place the cursor precisely, but a flying game would be better with a controller that has a joystick

Been playing alot of Dirt Rally 2.0 for the past few months. Even got a whole sim racing rig, it's awesome not gonna lie. But it's another addiction.. I'm letting it go a little bit for the summer because I want to be doing something else with my time, get back to arts, going outside, nature etc. It's still gonna be there for me when I want to get back on it, probably when it starts to get cold again ^^

Planescape Torment Enhanced, but on my smartphone. I meant to purchase it from Google Play for my laptop where I also have my Google account, but I couldn't install it on my laptop and I could only purchase my smartphone.

I'm sad.

Been going pretty hard on Far Cry 5. Decent game and the plot while a little out there is befitting of the era we live in.

Man, I saw that a 2TB SSD sata cost about $180 before Black Friday. Silly me, I thought I'd hold out and get an even better deal, or spend more and get a 4TB 'cause 2TB ain't much now, to upgrade my gaming PC storage and eventually move it to my media PC for better stability and speedy backups.

Anyhow, haven't seen the 2TB drop below $350 for months now. 4TB finally dropped to $700... whoopie.

Read on NPR that memory chips will be in extreme demand with little supply for the foreseeable future due to AI data farms. YAY!

Seems super expensive till you look at what like a ps5 costs and that you dont really own any of the games -- balancing that; Gaming got expensive!! I think I got my SNES brand new when it came out for 99 bucks, same with playstation, playstation 2 was 200 which was objectable but it played dvd's which was another thing they were FORCING you to buy anyways and costed about 100 at the time. (GREAT PR, made pitching it to parents a breeze!)

Anyone still getting your consoles / systems from your parents (Shutup I see young ppl posting here) --- umm How!??

Than the micro transactions (Are those in most games now?) I am old and confused and it seems unfair you can buy your way to advantage rather than actually play the video game till you have a stacked character.
(and using that character in multi-player was still frowned on; before online when everyone could have they souped up player though)

Damn kids *Shakes SNES controller* "This is the right amount of buttons!"

This is going very very way back in time. But the pc-version of this game is still on the market for like 3 €.
I need to play it on my current machine. It doesn't even have a DVD-drive.

The other game I meant to (re-)purchase is Neverwinter Nights, but if can't play it on my laptop, I won't bother.

Playing octopath traveller 0. Just finished the first 3 big bosses and am going up against whatever comes next.

Recently finished BG2 Enhanced Edition for the gazillionth time, and now I'll be setting up my own WoW TBC offline private server with bot players using the SPP repack. I will become a total recluse once the brutal rep farming for the bronze dragonflight starts LOL. No seriously I'll be having a lot of fun going back to '06/'07 before Blizzard ruined the game with Wrath of the Bitchking.

I lost the drive to complete Baldur's Gate somewhere sometime. I do love these kind of games but I can't manage to complete any of them. Questing seems to get work for me and even excellently written games turn boring.

Oh, when I think about it: finished Diablo I + II if this counts.

these click-point-strategy games used to be the shit 20 years ago, now I see how they die, day by day...

Diablo series is in a, hibernation state as well, I saw the last entry, and it moves horrible. Obviously, RadBrad, a famous playthrough youtuber, says that this is the shit, but isn't. They're all made on fast forward just to be sold.

Last quality strategy game was Starcraf and partially, some old updates of Guild Wars 2. I'd throw even EVE, yeah why not, it had a lot of potential.

Boring? BG2 has one of the best story- and questwriting and the best companions in any RPG. I assume you don't like the isometric playstyle?

Btw, THE best RPG in my opinion is Enderal. Do yourself a favor and play the game WITHOUT reading anything about the plot! It is the deepest, most philosophical and plottwisty game that I have ever played. It's based on the Skyrim Engine, so you need that game in order to be able to play it.

P.S.: the game is free.

BG2 actually has a more dedicated player base than its "successor" BG3. The problem of todays gamer generation is that they judge games purely on graphics, not substance. They google the game and when they see graphics that are older than 3 years they instantly lose interest. It's a shame because these games offered much more depth than what we have today.

EDIT: just compare the modding community of BG2 with BG3 and you'll see what I mean...

I know, I know, you are right. It is me who looses interest even when the story is brillant and the game is challenging in a nice way. I did love Minsk and my characters in chapter 1, I developed them to neat the king of ghosts, read through hours of storyline, cherished the dagger +2, scientificed skill trees and developed companion bonds but after half the game I get bored by discovering and walking back and forth to complete quests. I really would love to be so on love with a game til the end but after the honeymoon phase ... well you know probably.

Also, I prefer cooperative games because I like to play with my buddies online.

its good that you touch on the modders because they often make the games more playable and keep them alive, and rarely, even surpass the OG(Stalker:Anomaly). I once had a private wow server hosted on hamachi and people were begging that I update the server rig and I said fuck yeah bro, and let the whole hood play... ah 2010's
