Debt is a lever. I use the 'borrow a tenner' school of thought. Honest people pay back without asking, dubious people perform the whole mime of trying to remember THEN pay. Dodgy people seem to think after some unspecified duration debt is cancelled and ask again. It's worth £10 to keep them out of your face.
