AI copilot: well meaning parents who pass down beliefs, coping skills and worldview that limit their children

I'm also a chronic over thinker.

But anyway, the fact that you are so open and honest is a really good quality that all parents should have.

That's a good point, why do drug user's use? How did you start? to add to the question if you still use what is your motivation for continuing?

I started in a very safe environment. First time i drank was with my sister, only other sibling, she's two years older. I was in middle school going into high school. She was by my side the whole time and i didn't drink much. Started with weed as a freshman, basically because i was friends with a big dealer because we were both in boyscouts together, he was the resident pryomaniac. But a fun guy, not a bad guy.

Motivation to continue.. eventually it became a way to enhance my experiences. And then of course, when i became homeless, i became addicted to meth and crack because, well, why not.

I remember clearly, my younger brother turned me on to cigarets and weed. I was involved in my own life and hadn't thought of drugs until my brother and I drove to where we once lived, we got separated and later learned he was doing acid with his friends. It was weird in a way, me being the older brother, and not leading the way into drugs.
I soon made up for loss time in my own journey into drug use. My motivation back then seemed purely academic. I was on a quest for enlightenment. There was something missing in my life and I used psychedelics as the mode to find me.

I became interested in psychedelics again on my 70th birthday last year. Research was being done on psychedelics for mental health as an alternative for treatment. I always questioned the war on drugs and the fear propagandized by the media, It became clear the old narrative needed to change so I started advocating for psychedelics even though at the time, I had not tripped in 50 years.

It was about this time I joined BL for information and support. Further research into psychedelics for mental health led to questions why studies did not include people diagnosed with schizophrenia or a history of psychosis. I believed psychedelics would be the answer to all mental health conditions including disturbed thought processing.

I took this discretion as a personal challenge to disprove the notion of LSD and other psychedelics caused schizophrenia. I applied for psychedelic clinical trials but was informed because of my history I was not eligible. If this was the case I focused on the benefits of psychedelics for seniors, I bought a domain and started seniors4psychedelics as website to inform the public and seniors how psychedelics improved social skills, gave hope and helped with end of life concerns. I advocated seniors use of psychedelics on social media sites and wrote letters to New York senate.

I grew some mushrooms and tried other modes psychedelic substance, however the medication I was taking prevented positive trip results. Despite the fact I had not tripped in 50 years did not deter my efforts to bring psychedelics to personal and clinical use. Because I strongly believed in psychedelics for their medicinal values, recreational use was a bonus.
