Opioids Imminent 7OH ban: what about MGM 15 ?

I mean people do make poppy pod tea and poppy seed tea. Have you ever tried? I'd kind of like to but I don't want to become really dependent on anything. I mean plain leaf Kratom and regular extracts like OPMS black I allow myself to get a little dependent and then I'll just stop and taking tolerance breaks, but are poppy pod tea and poppy seed tea much stronger than Kratom? If so I would probably want to avoid them cause then my Kratom won't work and also that would probably mean that those teas are more addictive and have worse WDs I'd think.
Yes poppy pod tea is exponentially stronger than kratom. It’s essentially morphine and codeine, amongst other opiates. Seed tea is the same but much more hit or miss because you need to find unwashed seeds that are covered in the latex from the pod

I'm a bit late to this post, but I wanted to remind everyone about this with all the state-level (and the recently introduced (as of March 2026) federal-level ban)...

You may be thinking "oh I'm safe because the ban doesn't apply to me because it only mentions 7-OH being classified as a C-I and I take MGM." However, this way of thinking is faulty due to a federal law (and I believe every state has a version of this law) called The Analog Act, or something similar.

The Analog Act treats any substance that is "substantially similar" to any scheduled C-I or C-II substance as automatically a C-I substance unless otherwise explicitly specified in the [state/federal] Controlled Substances Act. Oh, and according to upheld appellate-level case law, putting "NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION" on the packaging does not exempt manufacturers/distributors from the elements of the law.

I personally think chemists will do their thing and introduce substances that the CSA and the Analog Act don't apply to. They've been doing it for decades and I don't see anything changing now.

I just wanted to point out, though you probably know this, that this is really just a few senators pushing for it. I don't know, I mean it's bad no doubt, but I'm not sure I'd use the language that it's a "recently introduced federal-level ban" so much as "the recent push by a few senators to ban Kratom federally."

It's probably not going to happen I don't think. I mean it could and I'm stocking up, but I'm not sure it's worse than what we've faced before.

It's sad that they'll only ban kratom and 7-oh because it's cutting into pharma profits and not because they care about anyone's well being. Can't have cheap and easy to get+legal pain killer to starve off withdrawals on the market. Need to push all those people buying it into the sub and methadone clinics.

It's fucking ridiculous. If I could find a doctor that wasn't an asshole I could easily get by on as little as 40mg of hydrocodone a day. But all of them just want to put you on a hardcore opioid like bupe or methadone.

If they ban kratom I'm probably going to quit opioids all together again. I've been stepping down off kratom slowly for the last several months. I'm to the point now where I could probably stop taking it cold turkey and only suffer for a few days. But I know the underlying pain is always going to be there so I'll end up taking something much worse given enough time. I only ended up on it in the first place after quitting methadone for months because the pain was unbearable to deal with day-to-day.

Didn’t methadone took care of the pain ? I’ve heard it’s amazing in that department

These already exist in botanical form (excluding kratom & poppy) and some supplements too, all OTC and unrestricted. But if you never read about the opioidergic effects of obscure stuff like myrrh, beta-caryophyllene, linalool, thymoquinone or agmatine then it's easy to overlook.

Also everyone overlooks the other effects of mitragynine that people enjoy like dopamine D2, cannabinoid, a2-adrenergic and blocking serotonin 5-HT2A / kappa opioid receptors.

The mitragynine adrenergic effects are still being worked out.

Way worse withdrawals than Kratom, not even comparable. Kratom is a walk in the park. Also kratom blocks most opioids because it also contains antagonists. When I did kratom I wouldn't feel codeine or oxy for weeks after stopping kratom.
