I’ve actually only attended a couple of gigs by bands anybody has heard of.

Jamiroquai - decades ago just before they released their second album. I personally loved their first album and was very partial to the early-90s acid jazz scene in general. Main recollection was JK taking spliffs out of the front row of the audience then handing them to the band instead of returning them. Should’ve realised then and there he was a cunt 😃

Smashing Pumpkins - much more recently my boy’s gf had to back out due to illness so he asked me to go with him. They were genuinely amazing - despite a lot of “new Pumpkins” slop - with some outstanding versions of proper Pumpkins tunes. Billy Corgan is also a cunt but exhibited true rock star energy so couldn’t be down on him despite his regular displays of cuntishness in general.

Also attended Fairport Convention Festival years ago but never bothered to go into the actual arena as I had zero interest in the music, could hear it all anyway due to our tent being only a few metres away, and getting to feel a tit for only the second time since nursing as a baby.

Do rather regret not seeing more bands live tbh. Just never had the funds or stable enough lifestyle for it to be practical :\

Saw them by accident at Glastonbury 1994. Wandered past coming up on some shrooms while they'd just started and just got kinda drawn in...didn't even know who they were until the next day
Never would have gotten into the prodigy or pendulum without music festivals. You walk past something you wouldn't normally consider buying a ticket for alone and suddenly find yourself broadening your horizons. Good shit.

Edit: you=me

An amazing feat of memory Mr.Fiend!!

It may not surprise you that I've also seen about 50% of those bands, plus many more that I'm sure you've also seen but have probably forgotten.

It does not surprise me no, as I'm aware that we've been at the exact same gig/festival on at least a few occasions

It surprised me how much I remembered too...all things considered ;)
but each memory leads on to another seemingly

You've got me wracking my brain now, but too many faded memories.

I've just noticed Showaddywaddy in your list. Respect!! They were great. Loved Darts too...
That was my first actual gig...my mum took me when I was 11.

But I usually say Motorhead when asked the first gig question... well it was the first one I went to of my own volition and it's a lot more impressive than Showaddywaddy eh (paricularly considering it was the Leeds show on the mini-tour where 'No Sleep til Hammersmith' was recorded)

Perhaps I need to be more authentic and stop denying losing my gig-virginity to Showaddywaddy (err). I definitely did enjoy the show too

Don't feel bad. First gig I went to was DragonForce age 15 had a great time.

Through the fire and the flames. Still a jam.

Totally forgot I saw Weezer too. No slight intended - just a long term druggy’s memoryfail =D

They opened for the Pumpkins as a double headliner and were actually amazing. I loved the early Weezer albums but definitely wouldn’t call myself a serious fan, but they totally won me over.

Didn’t know most of the songs they played but enjoyed most all of them - and the ones I did know they absolutely knocked out of the park. Really great live act even if not a diehard fan.

Pat benatar,Alicia moore, ozzy,Melissa E,robin trower,,rob halford ,pail di anno,Jewel, jerry garcia,George thorogood, dale bozio, marge cho ( she sings well) hot tuna judge or something n jack,Wendy o williams,Cher,Macy grey, sade ziggy marely..oh bands well you get the jist ,list goes on,lot of folk and punk in the day, indigo girls, Joan jett,Chrissie hynde

He wasn't. Was a great night though. Maine Road.

When we saw Waters he had an epic band and did The Wall in style. One of those I had to be talked into a little but was epic - heres the very show in fact, we were pretty much in the middle of stalls, glad i went
