Good YouTube/etc Channels worth watching

Been watching some if this woman's videos recently. Very high standard of production, no bullshit, no AI.

She has a knack of simplifying difficult concepts down to a level that even a fuckwit such as myself can understand (ish).

Highly recommended if you're into popular science.

I like these particular UK midland degenerates

& feel like at least two have had active handles here over the past 15 years at some stage

Top Gear meets former Disco Pigs

In this visually hypnotic and surreal episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Tony travels to the "Interzone" of Tangier, Morocco, a city famously haunted by the ghosts of the Beat Generation, including William Burroughs and Paul Bowles. Navigating the labyrinthine Medina in a haze of kif smoke, he explores the blurred lines between the romanticized literary past and the gritty modern reality, sharing traditional tagine, couscous, and bistilla with a cast of local eccentrics. The episode adopts a deliberate, hallucinatory style—mimicking the effects of the local "majoon"—as Bourdain investigates the city’s fading reputation as a sanctuary for artists, spies, and outcasts.

FOUND IT AGAIN!!!!!!!
I Love this film, this Baba was from Italy, he went to Varanasi in the 1960's & never left.
People think I am joking when I tell my mates when I go to Kashi / Varanasi I am NOT coming back to the UK.

Astrum is for all my fellow space monkeys. Pop science but not super dumbed down like so many science channels are. I’d say suitable for almost all levels of interest and prior knowledge.

I say “almost all” cos obviously those with relevant degrees are gonna find it overly basic, but even they may appreciate the up-to-date topics and relatively non-hyperbolic approach.

The narrator has a very soothing voice and always tells a good tale no matter how seemingly dry the topic.

Definitely recommended :)

The substance related channels on youtube seem to vary massively in quality, in terms of whether the presenters actually seem to have much of a clue about the subject or not.

This guy seems to run one of the better ones.

There's like an entire summary of the rise and fall of various websites here, some I already knew the story of, but I learnt something new regarding many others. Especially with a couple of market places being taken over by LE and ran by them for a time. Time for them to gather info on various sellers and buyers.

It's a bit scary some of the stuff that's happened. But it's better to know, rather than burying your head in the sand obviously. He seems to have a depth and breadth of knowledge that is quite impressive tbh.

He's quite funny too, at times. 'Degrading!? How do they know about my Dom Goth girlfriend?' lol

He's done several videos about various aspects of substances too. I watched the 'DIY drugs' video last night too, and that was also pretty interesting.

Cambrian Chronicles is a channel that focusses upon the history of Wales (including sone aspects of wider British history) and etymology of the Welsh language. This is way more interesting than you may think. At least imo, naturally :)

"Hello, My name is Tyler and on this channel I enjoy reacting and learning about the United Kingdom!"

I love this channel, I only found it a few days ago but spent several hours watching his stuff, I am SHOCKED in The USA people don't move out the way for the Police or Ambulance when it has the lights on for one example.
You would think we share so much with America but it turns out we don't, well worth checking out folks.
@mal3volent check this out mate, it's a great channel & I would love to know what some of your lesser visited family members make of it if you follow me here.

No not really, when I was in The USA & living in an area that's not for tourist folks I made so many mistakes.
1) Drinking booze in the street when it's NOT in a brown bag is illegal & you can be arrested for it, that's not some weird shit from movies or an urban legend.
2) Jaywalking as they call it will get you into trouble, I only got away from being taken to the cell at the station as I used my most heavy Black Country accent so the cop could hardly understand me, he let me go as I think he didn't fancy trying to interview me when he didn't get 90% of what I was saying. He said to his partner "He sure isn't from the posh part of London"
3) The USA has a weird thing called a carpool lane which is a lane on the motorway that has to have more than 2 people in the car or you get in shit for it.

You gotta watch his video about the cops / ambulance on blue lights.

Yeh, ive seen it mate. Its just that his reactions are like a 5 year old suddenly being thrust into adulthood.

Think about it for a moment, most people from The USA have no Passport.
  • Preply Survey (2025): Indicated 42% of Americans had never been abroad, with a significant portion never planning to, citing language anxiety as a top deterrent.
Forbes/OnePoll (2019): Reported 40% of Americans had never left the country.

When you have figures like that it isn't any shock they are blown away by such simple things, it's no shock his "reactions are like a 5 year old suddenly being thrust into adulthood" because in many ways that is what is happening if you follow me here?

Looking quickly through his channel it seems like rage bait meant to drive engagement which unfortunately is like half of all social media these days

I remember my ex when she was in London & saw a shopping centre, her jaw hit the floor as when you compare Bergen to Birmingham or even Oslo to London they are miles apart. The 2nd city Bergen isn't much more than a big town & I am not joking here if anyone has been there feel free to say if I am talking shit here or not.
It really is 100% like a 5 year old suddenly being thrust into adulthood.

Found it again finally.

"Murray Siple's feature-length documentary follows a group of homeless men who have combined bottle picking with the extreme sport of racing shopping carts down the steep hills of North Vancouver. This subculture depicts street life as much more than the stereotypes portrayed in mainstream media. The film takes a deep look into the lives of the men who race carts, the adversity they face and the appeal of cart racing despite the risk. Shot in high-definition and featuring tracks from Black Mountain, Ladyhawk, Vetiver, Bison, and Alan Boyd of Little Sparta."
