MISSED METH SHOT EVEN THOUGH IT REGISTERED?? (PICS)

Never go to your neck. Smoke it if you must -- but really this feels like a sign it may be time to put some distance.

I was an H guy but every miss/fraction of a Miss scared the hell out of me as going to the ER and claiming "bee sting" or w/e with a big lump on the elbow would be pretty transparent.

I hear meth is MUCH WORSE on the veins -- like with dope there is only one vein that I ruined and I can get it higher up, I just learned on that one and went straight through it about everytime than pulled back into it - pressed too fast, didn't untie the tourney quick enough -- I was trying but it is not a healthy practice.
If you gonna ask for medical help don't lie about 'bee stings' that's ridiculous, how do you expect them to help if you misguide them?
..but yea it is pretty transparent they will figure out it's a shot gone wrong at which point you might as well admit what the substance was, wether it's corrosive, did you share needles etc.
Don't worry medical people will not report you to the police (professional confidentiality... Except if you say you planning to hurt someone or yourself)

because an abcess is an abcess fella

They gunna treat it the same way regardless of how it got there!! They can suspect whatever the hell they want and write that on the damn chart but an admission would be a mistake.

I strongly strongly disagree --- you gunna end up with a flag on your medical file if you go in telling them you shoot dope. (Certainly the quality of future medical treatment will be tinted through that lense)

In the U.S at least --- this is common knowledge.

QUESTION : I show up with an abcess on my arm. I say it is from a bee sting -- In what way are you going to treat it differently than an IV abcess? (Back to 'who cares how it got there it's an abcess)

(Aside from bloodtests and things you should get anyways)

The abscess could be made up of different fluids or tissue. It could be an allergic reaction to a sting, when they'll give you some benadryl and dont let the door hit you on the way out. If its infected tissue, or pus, youre looking at a round of antibiotics, and probably surgical removal. They dont want to administer a drug that could interact with the drugs in your system.
The only "flags" you can get on your med records are for med seeking, violence toward staff, things like that. But the fact is, they dont give a crap if youre on drugs, the fact youre getting medical care for something is a positive, at least you care about yourself... a little lol.
I can see people maybe from a hardcore religious area seeing drugs on your record and passing silent judgment, but professionally, theres nothing a doc can do against you because you admitted to taking drugs recreationally, and got a boo boo. Always be honest with your doc, they're there to help you, not kill you.. except like .0001% of them.

I get the apprehension, I've lived in big city and small towns, and never bit me in the ass telling doc the truth, just accurate care

I am going to go ahead and say I would not be there until it is infected -- at which case yup antibiotics and surgical removal either way. (Never had it happen but have pre-weighed the decision)
I get the not wanting interacting drugs -- I am fairly knowledgeable there and will inform them on a need to know basis lol (very much at my own risk!)

This must vary region to region. I have had to have one person fired for breaching my confidentiality and she really should have known better being a nurse....

I once had a surgery done -- afterwards in a fent haze the nurses asked me how many klonopins I would need that night to sleep. I jokingly said idk 10 (as it was fairly stressful lol) I get my paperwork it says I take 10 klonopins a night on the top -- I had to go in to the next appointment and address it directly (for those not in the field, no i did not get 10 that night).... Now those papers aren't suppose to go anywhere else - hell if I am having em read that anyways though.

In a small community you dont want the doctors to have you pegged as someone that uses when you walk in the door. I will make that sentence the basic premise.

hehe, sotrue. I went to the ER claiming I had poked myself with a guitar string while changing strings. It actually was beelievable ;) until I folded under the pressure of thoughts of arm amputation and admitted it was an injection wound.

Haha they got you with scare tactics interrogation. I could see it happening to the best of us -- for all I know you really were at risk of amputation. Sometimes ppl let those get pretty bad

(Just breaking your balls) not like guitars and dope have ever been associated or anything!

The information and the notes your doc makes can definitely go to other doctors if it impacts your care, especially if its different ones within the same health system.
Sometimes people get HIPPA laws and privacy laws mixed up. HiPPA was designed to make sure insurance companies are protecting and sharing your info to hĥ⁶⁷
(Edit again, I have narcolepsy and kept falling asleep trying to post, I apologize)
Anyway, it protects the method in which your PHI and PII are shared, all other professionals are bound by privacy laws. That horrid lady, unfortunately, wasn't bound by any of those laws, shes not your boss, and you weren't her patient.
ANY new doc you see is going to make you sign an ROI, Release of Information or records. Sometimes we go in and just auto pilot sign the forms they hand us. But with the ROI, you can specify what you do and do not want shared with new doc.
I never tell anyone if im taking meds at work. You'd be amazed how many people discriminate and hate those of us who have to take antidepressants and what not. Keep it private, dont let assholes judge you, it also keeps the pill poppers from asking if you have any extras. The ONLY time you should disclose that is if you operate heavy machinery, or if your BOSS asks you something relevant, and even then I'd go get a doc note stating I am taking medication, but dont specify which one. Because THAT goes into your employee records, and anyone with a key to the filing cabinet can access your info.
Unless youre not i the US and its totally different.

you went through the vein at first making a hole, then pulled back then registered
Definitely this, but from personal experience if you're using a high gauge needle and you push too hard on the plunger the pressure can blow out the opposite side of the vein as well

at the ER & admitted they have to call the "ultrasound IV" team.

^ I don't want an "Ultrasound IV" team. anywhere near me -- give me the antibiotics and cut that shit out. (thankgod it never got that bad -- I dont think H is as bad vein wise as meth) *Note to current users the H is not H anymore in the US
