The D.E.A. reports that methamphetamine entering the U.S. from Mexico currently has the highest levels of purity ever documented and is the most potent ever according to the high percentage of the D isomer it contains. I've been using this substance since 1989 so I feel somewhat like an expert on the effects it gives. One thing that has me puzzled is that you don't hear of people staying up for 2 or 3 weeks anymore peeking out their windows or obsessively cleaning house or going a week without even a single bite of food. Hell, I couldn't eat while on it until about 2005 or so. Before ice flooded Texas around 1999, street samples of meth were as low as 25% purity yet still fully capable of causing this behavior, which it most certainly did. What could possibly explain this?
