Concentrates I'm trying Cannabis in tincture form. (Would that be a "concentrate"?)

I recently bought edible cannabis in tincture form. It's a little, brown bottle with a dropper and contains clear liquid. The label says take 1 mL under the tongue. I was expecting a more intense hit than I've been getting from the gummies. The dropper has no markings on it, so I'm not sure of what dose I'm getting. I just fill the dropper. I don't think it would hold much more than a single mL. (The label says that one mL equals 33.33 mg.) Anyway, I haven't found it to be especially intense. The bottle contains 30 mLs in total. It think it's cheaper - dose for dose - than the gummies of the same name.

I only use edible cannabis to get to sleep. It works great. I've never gotten any euphoria out of it. So I only use it about 2 hours before bedtime. I'm interested in hearing what anyone else thinks about the tincture form of edible cannabis.

The label says this about the active ingredients (per 1 mL):

D8: 30.3 mg
THC-P: 1 mg
THC-H: 1 mg
HHC-P: 1 mg

Ingredients: MCT Oil

So that's what's in 1 mg. Can anyone tell me about those ingredients?

This tincture doesn't contain CBD, which is an ingredient in the gummies I've been taking. It's fairly tasteless.

I guess it can be mixed into a beverage, but I haven't tried that.

The best way to think of a tincture is an edible without the food part (so just rhe infused oil). You can either make stuff with it or take it on its own directly.

Depending on the carrier oil (usually mct oil aka fractionated coconut oil), it may or may not mix cleanly into beverages.

My concern here is the cannabinoid content. May I ask why you purchased a tincture of alternate/synthetic cannabinoids and not a regular tincture? If its due to legality and availability, there are many great tinctures on rhe legal market still available from the 2018 hemp bill

What you posted is the mg content of each dropper full of tincture (roughly 1mL)

I had no idea that it was synthetic or that there were "regular" vs "alternate" tinctures. That's interesting.

Here's why I ordered the one I got: It has the same name as the gummies I've been getting. These particular gummies are touted by their manufacturer as being good for getting "knocked out." I suffer from insomnia, and these gummies actually induce sleep very effectively. Plus, they even taste delicious, without that weird, weedy after-taste I've gotten from other gummies. They cost me over a dollar per gummie. It seemed like the tincture would be cheaper dose for dose. It had a similar label and was given the same name. Plus, I thought it would kick in faster, since more of it gets absorbed sublingually. Both the gummies and the tincture had D8 as their main ingredient.

My impression is that we're not supposed to be naming on Bluelight the actual products that we buy. So I've explained how I shop as best I can, in light of that.

I notice the label breakdown of ingredients mentions a fat content. I take it that is due to cannabis extract being an oil.

I'm wondering why you have misgivings about the tincture I've described. I'm definitely interested in getting the best product for my money that will help me sleep.

I've recently started taking Sleep Tinctures because i have been experiencing troubles sleeping lately, this product (that i'm using) has no more then 0.3% THC which i've heard causes less side effects and acts more precisely. The description says they are made using advanced extraction techniques from both flower and leaves. It's been helpful so far. I suggest you can cross check the tincture composition and the doses from reliable source.

Well, I wouldn't want a stronger gummie. I cut these in half, which is enough to have quite an effect. I think the company I order from is reliable.

I've recently created a similar thread, but the only difference being that I'm creating my own tincture or infusion rather than buying a pre-made one. So I know exactly what is in it, in terms of how much weed, and what strain, what oils and any additives.

After making my first infusion in olive oil, and as I just wrote in my thread about that, I found yesterday with dosing the olive oil infusion directly by swallowing teaspoons at a time did work, but onset was wildly unpredictable. My first dose hit me relatively quickly, but then I could not feel any further top ups throughout the rest of the day hitting me at all. But I do still feel and look slightly stoned this morning.

My conclusion is that olive oil infusions are too unpredictable just swallowing via the oral route. Sublingual dosing later on didn't seem to cause any noticeable increase in effects either. I'd say that the infusion and eating it, has had far less effect than vaping all of that weed would have done.

I'd also add that the infusion was less effective than weed that has only been through the initial decarb process, of just browning it up a bit at a moderate temperature for about 45 minutes. And then consuming that decarbed weed directly, just stirred into full fat greek yogurt. Maybe I should just stick to this, just one initial decarb, seeing as I'm not going to be making any cookies etc with my infusions, I wonder if it's a step I could just leave out completely. Although I have read that when done properly, the infusions are more effective and predictable than eating solid decarbed weed fragments.
