Snorting 12.5 Ambien CR. Is it safe? Is it worth it?

I’ve been using Ambien CR for years, and I’m pretty sure I’ve become tolerant of it. Will it intensify the effects if I crush and snort it?

IDK I can't tell what to do that's not my place but personally I would look into the reason Ambien CR is not working for you, consult your provider, and look for an alternative medication for insomnia before I would snort it. snorting Ambien will not change the outcome in the long run.

Hey @BamaBoy52

I have to agree with @M!$TER-ED on this one dude. It would make sense that you would be tolerant to this medication after taking it for years. Zolpidem (Ambien) is a Z-Drug, thus it is related to Benzodiazepines, Alcohol and to a lesser extent, Barbiturates in how they produce their effects. They are just as prone to producing tolerance with sustained usage.

It´s not unusual for people to escalate the dosage at this point, believing that this will help them. You want this medicine to work, not to get fucked up right? If that is the case, I highly suggest you consider taking a break from this stuff for a short while, perhaps you and your doctoir can discuss the use of an alternative medication while you attempt to lower your tolerance to Zolpidem.

However, you really need to be aware of the Kindling Effect, as this is directly related to your situation. The Kindling Effect is a phenomenon describing those dependent upon sedative/hypnotic drugs, following a period of dependence, then abstinence who then return to dependence, wil typically see a faster tolerance and retiurn to previous dependence wih a correspondingly worse withdrawal syndrome eache time.

I´m not a doctor, but if you want my advice free of liability, I would definitely consider trying to leave this stuvf behind. You´re not ever going to be able to go back to the beginning. It is a bad cylce that too many people get themselves in and it starts with a person decidding they need more.

Insufflation of this drug would typically lead to a faster onset of effects, though I can´t help but feel tbe controlled release coating on this stuff would lead to a delay in abosrption. I don´t know to what extent this would occur.

I tried Clonazepam, but it was so hard to quit that I’m afraid to take it again. The only withdrawals I have from Ambien when I stop is I can’t sleep. I’ve had awful insomnia since I was in my 20s, and I’ve tried everything — Lunesta, Qviviq, Sonata, Rozeram, Trazodone, etc. I guess that’s why I’m so attached to Ambien; it’s the only that ever worked even a little bit.

Aye, it's shit isn't it. Troubled with the same problem too since my twenties as well.

I've tried pretty much everything too. Take Clonazepam a couple times a week. Stopped taking z drugs a few months ago but they were my crutch for a few years. COVID made everything worse.

I quite like Lunesta or just plain zoppi. Nice relaxed headspace, decent sleep and no real hangover. But with time tolerance grows and desired effects fade. Zaleplon was pretty shit I thought. Ambien? Meh, just seemed like an inferior zopiclone tbh. This hooker told me you had to take a bunch and then make yourself stay awake and you'll trip balls. I haven't got time for that, I just want a good night's sleep.

I'm interested in Qvivq though. Sounded like it might have some potential. How did you find it?

And Rozeram what is that, a benzo?

I also have tried pretty much every pill n potion there is for this disorder. Bunch of different herbs too.

Effects wise zopiclone was the best but over the years it took more than it gave. Just the occasional Temazepam or alprazolam now.

Do you have to use meds every night? I found melatonin good in combo with something else if it's more than the occasional need for pharmaceutical assistance. A bit tricky to get it working right but does the job.

PM me if you want. There is other options.
