So I have done Meth several times and it was just once and awhile sometimes I would go years with out doing it. I’ve always really liked it, but never felt like I needed to do it again or had any real cravings or anything. Had an opportunity a year ago to do some and did and never had cravings or anything just like the other times. Then a couple of nights ago the opportunity presented itself self for me to get some. So I picked it up went and did it but this time the day after I couldn’t stop thinking about doing more and I had these crazy cravings for it. They were so bad I couldn’t take it anymore so I went and got more and now here I am high again wondering if I’m addicted to meth now or what is going on? I dunno if anyone else has experienced this before?

Thank you I’m going to be careful and watch myself closely. I really appreciate your advice.
Being really careful doesn't stop the addiction. It is really really hard to stop once it gets it's hooks into you. There's a reason something like 95% of meth users relapse at least once. You're much better off leaving it alone now. I'd hate to see you lose everything, including your mind, family, friends, job, housing. Seriously think about that because that's a very real path you could go down. Just remember your choices have consequences.

Yes I am thinking of all that and I really appreciate your concern for me. I am concerned for myself as well as I am trying to leave it alone now, but I am having a lot of trouble. I just hope I haven’t left it too late and won’t be able to leave it alone now. I’m going to keep fighting and trying to stop Before it gets really bad and things start to really go downhill for me.

Honestly, get around people who don't use or do something beneficial to help you stop. Don't get anymore. Start a routine, stick to it. Go to sleep every night. Wake up in the morning and start your day, without getting high. If it's this difficult for you to stop using it when you haven't been using for long, you might need to think about getting help. Go to meetings. Find an organization in your community that helps people in recovery. That's my advice.

In my experience when you start getting to the point of asking yourself ”Am I getting addicted to X” or ”I might be getting addicted to X” 9/10 times youre already psychologically addicted to it but your addict brain wants to leave that small window of uncertainty open to make it seem less bad than it is ”maybe Im NOT addicted though?” ”Im not fully addicted to it ”yet” so there is nothing to worry about”

Please for the love of all that is holy stop now while you can.

My mom's boyfriend's son is a marine vet from Iraq. After he got back his mother died and he linked up with some chick and they just cheifed as much meth as they could.

This guy was really damn smart before he even enlisted.... Now he literally has the brain function of a 10 year old and he's in his mid 30s.

If you are at the point where you are thinking about it and having crazy cravings for it... and RECOGNIZING that you are thinking of it and craving it - I agree that you are on a very dangerous brink of becoming COMPLETELY addicted to something that is not only extremely difficult to leave, but that also makes you STUPID. So stupid you don't recognize you are in the danger zone anymore. So stupid that you don't recognize anyone - including yourself - anymore.
I mean no insult to those who "recreationally enjoy" meth, but I have watched it destroy too many lives, so sorry, not sorry. The damage it causes the brain, the organs, the body... the soul... that damage just can't be repaired.

I will also echo some of the previous advice here. If you are serious about getting away from this - you have to change your surroundings. Switch up your day to day. Create a new healthy habit. Be realistic - we aren't saying that you will have to pick up and move cities tomorrow (although sometimes that's what it takes.) But start SOMEWHERE. What's something healthy you enjoy doing? I would definitely find an NA meeting, go to a local help center - something. Fight it now. Please.

You are getting some very good advice here from people who have already gone thru or are in the midst of what you are just starting. Please don't be someone who has to learn by doing it on their own. Please listen to the people here who have been thru it and are trying to save you from hell. Literal hell.

I have only done meth a couple times and it is something I think about now and than. I just just need my sleep lol not a way I can go

Yes I think life situation like social supports, mindset, finances, living situation, things like that can all affect our likelihood to want to use or not.

You're not alone. Don't let it control you. If I were you I'd try to remember the things in life that you value more than getting high and try to direct your attention to those things.

Thank you for your advice as well I’m going to be really careful.
You've got the real advice in this thread mate - if you take that advice is up to you. We're all hoping you will

The only being 'really careful' at this point is to not use again. Anything else, considering your desire to not get addicted, is reckless.

Those hooks are in your brain now. Any more use they'll sink deeper. There will never be an easier/better time to quit than right now. Truth.

Do yourself a favour. Hardcore stimulants wreck body mind and spirit. You've been blessed with the awareness that you're on the brink, count yourself lucky for that and act accordingly. Best wishes

Yeah if you have an amazing time on it over the weekend all week you will think about it over and over and want to experience the same feeling again (especially if it was done with sex) .

I find if you can stop yourself for 2 or 3 weeks that craving and desire dissipates a little, although always there deep down.
