Xanax withdrawal/rebound anxiety after binge

Hi wondering how long does it usually take untill xanax rebound kicks in after last dose. Binged for 4 days taking 2mg the first day and then took 8mg a day on the second, third and fourth days (after first use my tolerance shoots up extremely high because of a period of abuse in the past where I was taking 10mg a day every morning).

Some might not get rebound effects from this amount but I seem really sensitive to it after abusing it before in the past so im just wondering if I last dosed 34 hours ago is it likely all out my system now and am I probably in the all clear?

Sounds like a good way to have a bad accident or a seizure. I avoid benzos above all else because of the rebound. Look up xanax halflife time, understand how it works, and an example bell curve chart for xanax to get an idea of your bell curve and trailing half-life. Plot times you dosed on x-axis, making sure to increase height of curve for bigger dosages on y-axis. Where the graphs stack up you'll have to modify and increase the theoretical line in these areas (because you're stacking dosages upon metabolite that hasn't been eliminated yet), and this will affect peaks further down the graph. Tall peaks to fast lows will make rebound symptoms more noticeable, but lingering metabolite may be enough to keep rebound symptoms at bay. I don't mess with benzos so I don't know. Good way to get a seizure though going up and down with benzos.

Not going to comment on the doses or dangers etc.. just posting this for info to the question raised.

I also added a link to a legendary thread that could be of value, at the bottom of this post, as well as to answer the OP's question in a pure scientific way.

Alprazolam is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral doses, peak plasma concentrations being achieved within 1 to 2 hours of a dose.
The mean plasma half-life is 11 to 15 hours.
Alprazolam is 70 to 80% bound to plasma proteins, mainly albumin. It is metabolised in the liver, primarily by the cytochrome P450 isoenzyme CYP3A4.
Metabolites include α-hydroxyalprazolam, which is reported to be about half as active as the parent compound, 4-hydroxyalprazolam, and an inactive benzophenone.
Plasma concentrations of metabolites are very low.
Alprazolam is excreted in urine as unchanged drug and metabolites

So u think I should drop down to say 1mg spread across 6 hours now just to help it steadily decrease down? I thought with being 36 hours since last dose I was clear but I guess since the doses got high could be in my system long yeah.

Half life of up to 15 hours.... so yeah, there could be some still in your system in the 36 hour range

Also dependent on liver function etc... but after around 40 hours it should be clear.. most of what I have read/studied would have it being in the system for up to 34 hours +-

Hopefully someone will assist with the right taper advise for you.

Good luck and be careful, especially if you have been through it in the past.
You know what you are dealing with here.

In your experience did you find when you are waiting around expecting something (in terms of anxietyrebound/withdrawal) it just makes it feel worse? Im thinking maybe if I just stay busy I wont notice anything.

When I said metabolite I meant whatever active drug was still present lingering in the latter part of the bell curve, good catch on the improper terminology my bad.

Tapering down is always good, just make sure you're not stacking on top of a bunch of other doses cause the bell curve thing is just an approximation. We don't know exact dosages you took, when you took each dose, what you ate that may affect how it's processed, etc.

Marijuana has always been great for alcohol rebound anxiety for me. Light exercise, walking if it's safe. Yoga? Meditation? I gave up drinking. I may drink some again one day but it's really terrible for you.

Yes, anticipation of withdrawal symptoms can worsen the experience overall. There can be a fair bit of anxiety about the symptoms and, because your brain has experienced withdrawal before, you might focus more intensely on the negative symptoms when they happen.

Ideally, you'd have some activity which can keep you engaged enough to distract you, but which is easy to exit from/stop doing.

I have no source for marijuana unfortunately. I just buy all my drugs online so would have to wait days since its sunday pretty tempting to go buy alcohol now though lol.

Yeah hardest part for me is the anxiety and total apathy I get after. Really makes you feel like going and buying alcohol but that just delays and makes it worse later I guess.
