My entire life I have been interested in drugs ever since elementary, I'd take the drug info books off the shelf of the library and sign them out. As of today I'm in forced rehab recovering from fentanyl addiction. That won't be forever and I'm planning experiments with myriad of substances.

Anyway I have experience with many drugs starting with 4-ACO-DMT when I was 16 I would pop a quarter point listen to drake and see DNA spirals and poetic text unfolding on the pavement. After that it was weed and nootropics, (I'm always on those NOOTROPICS) then phenibut, poppy seed tea and isopropylphenidate(smoked, that stuff will make the room smell like plastic LOL). once I turned 18 it was alcohol and etizolam... smoked. Speed paste and molly find me. Then I turn 20, I get addicted to meth... (smoked)

Now I'm 27. I've also tried HEXEN(smoked), A-pcyp(smoked),a-pvp, Ketamine, Tiletamine, Zopiclone, DMT, Mushrooms, LSD, pregabalin, mephedrone, morphine, suboxone, PCP, MPA, 3-FPM, DXM (one of my favourites) Cigarettes and cigars from 20 till a month ago, vapes from 18 till now and still

I'm very methodical and careful with my use, before consuming anything I weigh my dose on a scale and record the measurement in a dosing journal. This is extremely important as it inhibits fiend-like behavior, re-dosing recklessly, overdosing, using up all your drugs, surpassing the point at which you get high (you can use more drugs then can get you high and get un-high). Also, when you do this, you can make a graph of your use and check your tolerance. Everyone should do this! It's a safety concern.

So, I'm here to contribute, haling from vancouver, I'm going to be still in rehab for another 3 or so months, but after that it's gonna be trip reports and such so that'll be alright!

Taking the time to get to know different users and posters lets you build relationships with people and get to know how folks respond - also who to trust, whose insight into drugs or other issues are particularly resonant with you for whatever reason. You can't really get that on reddit - maybe a few people you might recognize, but you may only occasionally see someone you recognize commenting on something.

I think the sequential format of a forum is helpful - there aren't diverging conversations that trail off, just one steady stream from start to finish. Since it's relatively small, it's easy to recognize folks.

Welcome to bluelight - try to get something out of rehab. Even if it's forced, there may still be some value in there. Fentanyl isn't bringing anything but the alleviation of a constant craving - there's no DNA spirals or intimacy, no connection or insight - just the illusion of 'good'. I got clean from heroin in 2008 and have been working with heroin/fetty and meth users since 2012 as a clinician. It gets better, and, taking time now pays dividends in the long run. The more time you can focus on yourself and reconnecting with you, the more you can revisit exploration with a clear and open mind.

Welcome, stay well, rest up, see you on the boards.

How would you say this fairs for nicotine?

I’ve had successful periods of periodised use of other substances and kept track of it although not to this extent, but I generally find it’s the most difficult.

Not to say impossible, I’ve had enough on and off periods and some of them long term (off) but it’s still a interesting one.

I have always ended up rather constantly dosing nicotine, than not. Again easier to stay off than dabble. Indicative of addiction and the usual “not for you mate so don’t bother”

But still to note the ease, the casualness as a factor to wishing to utilise chronically.

To be noted that again although I’ve found many get a quite profound withdrawal syndrome, it is our choice to then choose to use it and it isn’t any special demon.

Even with its multifaceted method of action (my understanding) and that inhalation is more pleasurable and the half life etc, I would edge to say it shouldn’t be said to be hopeless as quitting is possible, very awful but nothing that can’t be managed.

I wouldn’t call it unfair if someone says to me now I’ve let myself fell into the trap, and using Nicotine, especially chronically and inhaled is just stupid.

I went from a couple puffs a day (logged and recorded as just 5 drags in the evening) to then using ADHOC because I decided to, committing honestly and admitting to myself I want to rather than beating myself up and berating myself for cravings.

Even though I have witnessed myself move past so many other desires and how quickly they fade without attachment.

I smoke infrequently and mainly vape.

I can see the justifications perceptions and thoughts and I’ve proven to myself I can cold turkey and brute the withdrawals.

Also knowing how bad it is, I trained myself for 3 years to be repulsed by it and to abstain. Willingly without craving.

But still choosing to use it eventually because I could as I wished to indulge in some of life’s empty pleasures and I confidently still today wish to. (My excuse being being that I find reigning myself in as total serene and healthy monk do able, but boring and tiring, but I’m just unenlightened;) )

Understanding that getting very ill can just happen and it’d be too late to try stop, just for a little hit each day, likely ending life early for a little puff lol.

My personal affinity, it’s something I love doing, mainly the feeling and yes yes the relationship to habit etc.

My methylphenidate also synergises and a months still without shocking tolerance but just some slight diminishing returns, but something I accept. A window and then time to atleast give the ol lungs a break, go without so it’s better later.

Allen Carrs statements on nicotine ring through and I would gain so much more than I’d lose, but here I am with Nicotine nonetheless.

Not to say impossible,
Quitting cigarettes is a deal of physical strength. If you don't have the ability to just spontaneously butt the cigarette out when smoking, you aren't physically strong enough yet. it means you have to hit the dumbbells. That's what I did, and last month and a bit ago I beat cigarette addiction for good. I'm still working out, working with progressively heavy weight, and enjoying it all the while. Just butt it out! If you can't smash the cigarette out, it's simply too heavy for you!

I did in fact switch to vaping (only during my four 30 min fresh air breaks granted here in the rehab facility) and chewable nicorette gum, but I find if I don't take breaks from the gum it doesn't stay enjoyable. I'm not trying to quit nicotine, I'm trying to get the most out of it, which means moderate use really.

Most people don't realize that withdrawal is part of the drug experience and should somehow still be enjoyed. (hard to hear ;) I've personally never truly suffered from drug withdrawals much, 'cept for Kadian, after about 6 months rising to 1400mg I dropped it cold turkey and had a really bad day, puked in my sink, but I recovered the day after. Once long ago after 6 months on 2mg etizolam daily I quit cold turkey and almost had the brain zaps, still didn't have a bad time. Drugs come with both the good and the bad, if you don't circumvent the bad it will catch up to you.

Lol I stopped smoking cigs cold a few weeks back, no wds or anything but i was social smoker or an H smoker, no H = no smoking. So seeing as I haven't touched it in almost 4 months now I haven't touched cigarette either lol, just weird how this stuff works.
