Well US forces have taken part in bombing Iran, specifically Fordo. Fordo is the larger, more modern uranium enrichment facility. The US employed GBU-57 'bunker busters', a weapon that weighs 130000Kg.
If you think about if from the Iranian perspective, you would take the 60% enriched uranium (estimated to being produced at 20Kg per month) and store it in many places i.e. don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
But while the US is STILL claiming it doesn't want war with Iran, I'm not sure how else you can describe bombing Iran.
As I've said before, there is nobody to replace the current regime in Tehran because the opposition coalllition was destroyed in 2023.
So what anyone wanting regime to occur would have to do is to take the disparate opponants of the current Iranian government and without elections, put them into power. These will be people that the vast majority of Iranian people will never have heard of. Now the closest example I can think of is Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu but in that case it was his own armed forces that removed him. What is unusual in the case of Romania was that the people at least understood the concept of a secular democracy.
The majority of Iranians know nothing but an authoritarian theocracy. I also have to ask who will provide Iran with the finances to rebuild not so much physically but more into a nation which is financially stable.
Be aware, Iran has the world's fourth largest hydrocrarbon reserves. So there would be a lot of scope for investment provinding medium to long term income, one has the feeling that none of that money will ever reach the Iranian people.
Don't forget, the Shah of Iran was supported by the US as was his son. So in some ways, the US isn't aware of Iranian culture. But we do know that the US is much happier for a right-wing dictator to lead a nation than even a moderate democratic leader. South and Central America is worth reading about. the US has been behind at least one 20th century revolution in every single nation of that continent.
I just worry that while it all looks great now, it's only going to get worse. I mean, I don't WANT it to fail at this point since you cannot change what has happened but be aware that IF the Supreme Leader is still alive, it can only be because both the US and Israel know that there would be a power vaccum and even in hiding, as long as he's alive, he's still the 'glue' that lubricates the cogs of Iranian freedoms.
