I recently got a job offer hinging on a drug test, so I stopped smoking weed for a while and got some 14 panel home drug tests to make sure it was cleaning up beforehand (still dirty, got about a week before the drug test, getting kind of nervous but the job is in a legal state so I'm not sure weed is what they are even looking for but its only safe to assume they are). Turns out it will be a 5 panel at a lab.
But here's the thing, I take kratom pretty frequently and the 14 panels I bought have been coming up positive for buprenorphrine. The only drugs I have used in in a good long while are weed, kratom, kava, alcohol, and mushrooms, obviously its not the weed, kava, alcohol, or mushrooms.
The lab offers a standard 5 panel and a 5 panel with expanded opioid testing. I'm not sure which version they are going to have me take and the expanded opioid version doesn't specify what other opioid they look for other than oxy, but implies its more than just that.
I have a few questions:
Is the kratom I've been getting possibly laced with bup or is bup a known false positive from kratom? How can I find out for sure if kratom from this vendor is laced or not? I'm not totally against taking bup, but I do have an issue with taking it unintentionally.
Assuming they give me the expanded opioid version of the 5 panel test, is bup/kratom going to present an issue? Is taking kratom/possibly bup slowing down the process of thc leaving my system?
I don't smoke too much weed, I go through maybe .25g/day, occasionally more, still positive after about two weeks of complete abstinence from just weed, should I be concerned about being positive after another week? The drug tests I got have a 50ng/mL threshold, I'm assuming the lab test is 15ng/mL. What can I do to speed up the process?
Edit: meant to update, my state has legal protections against employers declining or ending employment based on THC use. Still a little concerned they might try, but technically I could sue if they did, so I think they are probably just making sure I'm not on other drugs. Not sure why I didn't look that up sooner.
