6 days of pregablin - 150mg max a day. Wds?

Day 7 - I think shit is getting better. Having random episodes of goosebumps but rls feels like it has calmed down a bit. I should be on the up now. Just had a 5mg edible to see if that helps smooths out the edges. Fuck DHC withdrawal. Next to tramadol, it's the worst opiate withdrawal I've had. I'm adding that to my list of things not to have again. Since the tramadol incident years ago, I never touched it again. Same with dhc. Has a much longer tail that codeine it seems.

Spoke too soon. Seems to come in windows. Morning of day 8, achey legs again. FFS -7 day WD my arse . Is this normal? Why does it feel like it's getting worse/not better? This better not be gabba wds/benzos or I'm fucked.

Honestly you’ll be fine soon enough. You simply haven’t taken enough of anything for long enough to have any truly long term issues.

RLS sucks I know - was always my most hated wd symptom - and I’ve had it for months as a side effect of a non-opioid medication I’m taking… but life goes on. Just remind yourself how much worse it could be and distract yourself with whatever distraction distracts you best.

It’ll be over soon, old chap ❤️

You know what is sad Shambles - I just came across a thread I made here in 2021,,when I withdrew fucking hard from tramadol from a car accident. I remember my mood being so bad it went to dark places. I never touched tramadol again.

Unfortunately 4 years later, I find myself in a similar position, withdrawing from opiates. Again. Whilst it wasn't of my choosing (I had a fracture hence the dhc), it still sucks. I won't be touching DHC again either. Why is it so county? I tried oxy a long while ago and took around 80mg over a few days. Was fun but nothing to rave about. The WD from that was nothing compared to DHC...it just got on and on 😭

As a former long term opioid addict I’d honestly say they’re not worth fukkin with unless you truly need them for one reason or another.

Not saying they aren’t potentially euphoric as all fukkery and so on… but they’re more a way of life. That way of life is not for all… it’s highly debatable whether it’s even right for those that truly gel with poppy products…

If you’ve struggled so hard with relatively low-level use, for so little reward, I think you can safely say they do not gel with you. Honestly, count yourself lucky and move to on to brighter pastures 💜

Am I right in thinking that the day after you stop say DHC, isn't technically day 1 as it needs to get out your system? I was taking it daily for just under 3 weeks and I was trying to work out why on now 'day 9' the rls still feels relatively intense. I also get the occasional chill and watery eyes. Perhaps I'm not as far ahead as I thought and I need to subtract a day or two given the 6 hour half life. I was taking between 150- 210mg a day.

I would say the clock starts ticking from the last time you dosed… but technically you’re probably correct. Most likely take a day or so for the various half-lives to even out for you to get your cluck on good and proper.

Not sure it makes much of a difference in the grand scheme, but, yeah, you’re probably a day behind where you thought you were in an actual drug in actual system kinda way.

You're definitely beginning PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome) and are gonna have to learn to live with some discomfort.
How long does that last? I'm day 10 now and whilst things are definitely getting less, rls still there fairly inconveniently at night and not sleeping great. Hoping by 14 days I see further improvement

I've reecently been reading / listening to a guide about quitting kratom.

The author re-framed w/d (and presumably post acute wds) as a sign of healing, and to be embraced as such.

I've found that it kind of helps sometimes to think of things in those terms.

I couldn’t agree more. Roller-Coaster go up, roller-coaster go down. As Bill Hicks said, it’s all just a ride, man ❤️

Day 11- I fucked up last night by taking promethazine, a sedating anti histamine to sleep. Ended up making my rls worse, so this morning my legs are aching 😂. Definitely improving though. I'm hoping the rls is gone by day 14 but maybe that is wishful thinking.

Hey mate. It sounds like it's just the anxiety from the tail end of the rattle and lack of sleep. If you like your benzos then you'll be prone to anxiety, most likely.
Opiate wd's can seem like they last a lot longer than the 3-5 days that doctors bullshit us with. As someone who's experienced with benzo, pregab and opiate withdrawal, I'd agree with most others and say it's the dhc. Steer clear.
Pregabalin withdrawal is horrible, but it's usually over quite quickly. Even a large habit can be rid of in a week, but it usually seems so much longer with the lack of sleep.

Update - almost a month clean of DHC. No cravings, but I do find I have days where I feel like I have small waves of WD (slight restless legs/sweats etc). Is this normal this far out? I'm assuming this is what PAWS is? I've found taking any sedating anti histamine seems to re trigger my rls slightly for a day or so.

Having a bit of a shit one today with sweats and a bit of nausea (although that could be the Elvanse).

Zero cravings though which is brill. Not that I would reset the clock on this shit show anyway. How long does PAWS hang around for?
