Mental Health Coming off Invega/Xeplion (paliperidone) injections v. 10

I wonder if the old users from v1, v2, v3 are alive, have anyone of them truly recovered or just convinced themselves that they are better than before?

Most users who post here that they have improved come back 6 months later claiming they feel horrible and suicidal.

Come on, there should be at least 1 oldschool lurking around every now and then. Give us some truth, convincing truth..

Why would those who recover come back to this site and be reminded of the trauma that invega and other antipsychotics have caused them?

I'm sure if I recover I will come back maybe once to give people hope and then deactivate my account and never return so I could enjoy life.

👋🏻 I'm much better than I was. I've been 3 years self harm free and I'm on the least amount of medication I've been on in my life. Recovery looks different for everyone. For me, this is it. My faith has played a huge part, yes, but the majority has been my determination to yield. Say, I don't have the answers. help. Made a commitment that if I ever was tempted to self-harm, I'd go to the ER. Glad to report it's been three years since I've been to the ER. 💙

Im glad you are good, thanks for your time and the feedback. I went through your posts looking for some info about how many injections you had, but was unable to find any.
Would you mind me asking you what type of injections you have had and how many?
Also your grammar and communication looks on a good level, which seems to me you did not get any brain damage.

Bro i would dedicate my life to this forum if i recovered from this poison. Also i would assure every single newcomer that it gets better and everything recovers…

Good afternoon! I'm new here, and I'm going through this abysmal journey with Invega Sustenna.
I have a big question to ask.
Has anyone ever thought about whether a chemist or scientist could create some kind of "antidote" or antagonistic medication to Paliperidone or antipsychotics, specifically to the d1 and d2 receptor (dopamine)?

Your body is best scientixt. Detox + neurogenesis+ rest + lots of raw fruits vegetables and nuts

You will get better. I had 3 months worth of invega injections and about a year and a half worth of abilify injections and i recovered fully. I am in better shape now then when i was 20
How long did it take for your brain/consciousness to recover? So many things changed for me. I’m more awkward and anxious now. The voice in my head is very disturbing now. Like a song stuck in my head sounds different than it did before.

About a year but my recovery was slowed by latuda. Had i not been on that i would have recovered much quicker.

Guys how's everyone doing? I know it's been so difficult for you guys; I'm still here. It seems I'm just here as some marketer just coming when I need your social help. What are you guys experiencing? Is it still the anhedonia? What's killing you guys? For me I'm on Olanzapine and it's anhedonia and unending tiredness. Invega is really difficult and I did have good days on Invega. I'd say the olanzapine is slightly heavier on the anhedonia. I think there were like two different invegas one of mine actually made me psychotic (Not direct cause maybe).

Feel free to talk to me; I do reply here. I will be more understanding.

How much zyprexa are you on? Im on 10mg's a night and get no side effects from it. But if your getting anhedonia you should talk to your doc about switching antipsychotics

Why are you still on Olanzapine?

Hello everybody,
I'm French, so my English isn’t perfect — thank you for your understanding. I really want to thank everyone here for sharing their experiences, especially those who have been here for years, like Paranoid Android. I read the full first version of this chat, and it helped me a lot!
I went through a psychotic episode, but I don’t have a diagnosed psychiatric illness. In September 2024, I started Xeplion: first 150 mg, then 100 mg twice, followed by 50 mg, and finally 25 mg over the course of 8 months.
At the beginning, it was horrible — I had the same side effects many of you mentioned. But reducing the dose made things much better, and now I feel good, even though I’m still not as energetic as before and I’ve gained 15 kg.
So, how can I help?
First, you can use ChatGPT to make a graph of your doses per months and how long the medication stays in your system — it’s very useful.
To help eliminate Invega faster, you can take Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort), valerian, and ginkgo biloba. These can help boost the enzyme CYP3A4, which is involved in metabolizing the drug. But be aware that CBD can slow down the process. Tobacco can speed it up — I read that in a medical book.
If you gained weight easily even before Invega, and it’s hard for you to lose it, that could be a sign you're a slow metabolizer. To speed up your metabolism and help eliminate Invega, eat healthy, exercise regularly, and stay well hydrated.
Also, after getting your injection, massaging the injection site can help the medication release a bit faster.
This is what I’ve learned and what helped me.
Important: During treatment or after stopping Invega, avoid marijuana — it disrupts your dopamine system and can trigger psychotic episodes. This is the réason why I take invega today...
Honestly, since I dropped to 25 mg, I feel much better, even if my energy isn’t fully back yet. From what I’ve read, Invega can take 4 to 8 months to fully clear from your body.
If possible, switching from Invega to oral risperidone or paliperidone might help make the tapering easier when you’re ready to stop.
Wishing everyone healing and strength.
Thank you for reading — have a great day!
