They won five seats and came second in loads of others, so it's a bit of an exaggeration to say there was only a couple left standing. His previous Brexit party had difficulties with people they'd recruited having previously posted massively unhinged stuff on social media. If I were him, I'd make it a condition for anyone wanting to be a candidate to wipe their entire social media and delete all accounts tbhNot sure about their credentials tbh, havent they all been lunatics with skeletons in their closets, apart from Farage? He either doesnt have any, or has had them very well hid. Or maybe the UKs overwhelmingly right wing press is in his favour, and doesnt want to do the dirty on him, which is no doubt helping his prolonged popular appeal and populist policies.
Granted Farage is an engaging public speaker, and that in itself is getting rarer and rarer amongst todays politicians. He's got experience from his EU stuff too. But no party can be a one man band.
He will need at least 350 or so (IIRC) competent people to stand for election for his party and to get elected. A tall order me thinks.
Wasnt his party down to just 1 or 2 men left standing, apart from Farage, at the last election?
Not a fan of Farage or Reform at all, but it's pretty grotesque that they got 14% of the popular vote, but ended up with 5 seats, whereas the Lib Dems got 12% of votes and ended up with 72 seats. We really need to scrap/reform (no pun intended!) our FPTP electoral system, as the current model is massively undemocratic
