the market: stocks, bonds, options, whatever

I still have no idea what exactly Palantir does

Every description of them is vague and marketspeak sounding

I work in tech and don't get what they do. Does that seem right?

And the CEO looks like a wojak
They use various AI and algorithmic surveliance and investigative techniques to provide customers with as much intel as possible on individuals or groups. They scrape the internet looking for any information about user(s) and create profiles that can be used for a variety of purposes. They're essentially a privatize intelligence corp that sells their services to individuals, corporations, and nation states.

Incidentally, Thiel is a big LoTR fan, so they're named after stones used by the elves to divine and scry on others which eventually fall into the hands of Sauron and become a huge vulnerability to elves and whatnot. They were originally written to be an allegory about police states and how powerful and devastating such powers can be. Of course Thiel ignores the warning and is just like - yo I want that shit!

Shady AF.

PLTR -25% in 5 days. Had a feeling but didn't short it unfortunately

Doofus :p I was gonna say you really called that one

A lot of stuff is falling now, it's like Trump is pulling the biggest rugpull

If I started tweeting some funny AI memes at him you think he'd notice?

ORANGE SENPAIIII!! NOTICE MEEEEEE

Michael Saylor strikes again with his timing. Spent over $20B buying bitcoin in the last 4-5 months raising MSTR's average cost for each bitcoin to $62,473 because he bought so many around and above $100K, and now it's at $89K

Some people think MSTR won't trade at a discount to the bitcoin they hold, but it already has in the past when it was $2B market cap while owning over $3B in bitcoin, and it's trading at a pretty big premium right now so it could still go down a lot even if bitcoin doesn't

Tell him to make somebody buy VKTX for $112 a share

MDGL beat earnings and posted a smaller loss again. On track to become profitable sooner than expected at this rate

Sorry if its off topic, but does anyone here know about investing in currency? I know some US soldiers exchanged USD for Iraqi currency during the conflict, knowing it would recover afterwards. Some supposedly became quite wealthy from it.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to invest in the currency of a country undergoing strife that you also know is likely to recover (to some extent, at least) in the next few years.

would anybody be interested in a fantasy trading thread?

i'm not sure if there are any specific platforms for this kind of thing but i suspect there are. we agree a starting bankroll - maybe $10,000 - and we make virtual trades. we can update each week to see how people have done - up or down- and maybe we run the thing for 6 or 12 months then crown a champion?

we can fine tune the details later e.g. maybe we limit trades to stocks, funds and crypto only

who's in?

I wanted a mid game money line on the caps Sunday. Down 1-0. Would’ve hit.

Then I wanted an under on the rangers game Sunday. That would not have.

No money lost.
