Fair enough. These f*ckers are pests and I keep seeing him in there every other night no matter how many times I shoo him off. I don't want him destroying it since I've been growing it for a few months.

They are apparently poisonous to pets and other animals. Not sure if that would translate to an actual danger after harvesting, but I doubt it.
On the other hand, they are also defending the plants from nuisance insects and such.
If it were me, I would remove them just to be safe.
Maybe invest in some chicken wire to create a barrier.
