Bojana sadly took her own life in April 2024 because of damage caused by Invega injections.

I always appreciated her posts in the invega thread, and I'm very sad to hear that she passed away. Rest in peace, Bojana. What you did on Earth mattered. I hope people take the issue with invega and antipsychotics seriously, and more awareness is fostered about the potential complications from these drugs.

Invega can cause side effects that don't wear off for quite some time, many people who experience these adverse events have their lives severely impacted

I was not familiar with said poster, but that invega thread is interesting phenomenon as a whole, almost like a sub-community within bluelight.

I suppose that speaks to the problematic nature of those long-lasting antipsychotic depot injections

It shuts down your dopamine receptors which causes lots of physical and mental problems, Antipsychotics used to be called Major Tranquilizers and people in the industry often referred to them as Chemical Lobotomies.

An example of why it's not great practice to have the people responsible for recommending/prescribing a drug for utilization be amongst the least likely people to actually have or will take that drug.

I didn't know Bojana, but my condolences - I can't imagine the feeling of powerlessness experienced when being pushed to take a medication that to everyone else seems the right choice but which you cannot tolerate in a fundamental way that no one gives you the space to express. I see how often the Psychiatrists and Psych NPs I work with like to use Invega Sustenna, and I may share this story the next time it comes up in a case consultation.
