@Mjäll What do you find so convoluted about his speeches or thinking? Can you post an example?

Peterson's convolution is often in the form of him attacking the premise of a question he's been asked, often sidestepping it to almost change the subject.

I think the cited example seals the deal. A communist who doesn't believe in communism. A perfect fence-sitting "look at me" slogan to claim for himself not any defensible falsifiable forthright position but an entire field of talk.

Btw being better than tik tok is not where the bar for philosophy is.

using bombs that are too big for the specific targets of one of the most advanced militaries with some of the most advanced tech/ intel, using them in urban areas of extreme population density constitutes a war crime because they ARE OBLIGATED to make an attempt to avoid civilian casualties. instead, they have been INDISCRIMINATELY killing civilians while using genocidal rhetoric (amalek, no innocent civilians type rhetoric, full siege of gaza rhetoric) and cutting off their food and water, blocking humanitarian aid... etc...

The bar for philosophy is not the average person.

I think i've got a good estimate. It would be sad to settle for simply better than average when grasping at the opportunity to produce and curate some actual intelligent thought. It's not a competition, it's a craft. And Zizek to me doesn't belong in it.
 
Believe it or not I am way above average, even after all the abuse my brain has taken. I am just lazy and have abused my brain.

The IDF NEVER follows through with an attack on such a structure so THAT is a non issue.

How do women & children get killed then? It is known as "Collateral Damage" & occurs in every conflict zone on the planet. The average ratio worldwide is 10:1 meaning that for every combatant killed 10 civilains also die. In the IDF the ratio on average is 1:1.5. This is because the IDF takes the most precaustions of any military on the planet to minimise Collateral Damage.

In a heightened operational environment like Gaza- currently- the IDF hijacks local media AND cellphone networks to issue direct warnings to people in an affected zone. The IDF also drops leaflets that warn residents. The IDF uses PA systems to also warn of impending attacks. No other military has ever done this because it allows combatants to take precautions just as it does to non combatants.

Even with all this non combatants do die. It is something noone in the IDF feels good about. It may shock you but Arabs serve in the IDF despite being exempted. There are Gazsns to aid the IDF in many ways. Lastly, there are Gazans that hate what HAMAS does to Israelis & Jews in general. It us not a black & white paradigm. Nothing ever is. That said, wars like this have casus belli. You hate the effects but you ignore the causation. That is never ratonal.

If they take so many precautions, why are so many people dead? All I said was that this "collateral damage" you're talking about, kids and women being killed at a high rate, is unacceptable. And in response, you bring out dozens of rationalizations and justifications for why it's ok to murder children. Think about that maybe.
