I think cutting off the water and electricity to the entire population is classed as a war crime.
yes,
collective punishment. blatant and obvious that israel is commiting collective punishment, a war crime.
furthermore, they have been caught before with targeted killing of journalist shireen abu akleh. israel seems to be going after journalists (and their families) in this latest iteration of their fight against palestinians. we'll see if it can be demonstrated (kinda hard when it's so
extremely hostile an environment for reporters.)
targeted killing of members of the press is a war crime.
lastly, their obvious ethnic cleansing (despite the continued bad faith silliness of a certain admin) could be considered as acts of genocide under international law:
(a) Genocide;
(b) conspiracy to commit genocide;
(c) direct and public incitement to commit genocide;
(d) attempt to commit genocide;
(e) complicity in genocide (i guess biden and most of our legislature is guilty then)
these are all
crimes of genocide under the geneva genocide convention.
and just so we can put out the silly "..
bUt THeIr pOpUlAtiON siNCe SUch-anD-sUcH dATe.." bad faith crap before it reers its ugly (and silly) head again, here's how genocide is defined under the geneva conventions:
(a) killing members of the group;
(b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
according to international law experts and genocide scholars, this is a plausible case or even a slam dunk case brought by south africa.
