Depends I aways get morphine, I don't like morphine but one area hospital that hates me always used dilauded and Ativan, nice together. But doctors have been intimidated and can't write for hardly any thing but I do get 40mg oxycodone, 30mg of Valium, gabapentin, and clonidine a day. I got banned for a week for mentioning the political party that has lowered things in my state and the country. 100,000 a year dead from fent and boarders open and pain patients suffer. I would give advice who to go to, but that got me in trouble too. The truth doesn't matter if you are on the wrong side. Besides the care at UK hospitals, is sad especially for those who can't afford private doctors even then, the care is worse than when I was on Medicaid. No long lines for treatment, just a ridiculous war on pain patients while fentanyl streams in. The Medical care in most countries with socialized medicine is terrible. I hear complaints from everyone, and I mean everyone, mate. In the hospitals no complaints, but outside it is a nightmare. It has gotten worse in the last couple of years. People are expected to tough it out more, I gave up my 24/7 morphine script because I didn't need it and I don't process morphine orally well. But there are no waits for advanced treatment and people don't die waiting for care here, yes it is worse, but so is it everywhere, but not for painkillers, if you get to see a doctor in many countries. Other than costs, blame the lawsuits, unnecessary tests and the whole war on pain patients, like me but at least I can see a doctor anytime. I was treated better on Medicaid than most people in countries with socialized medicine. I hear the complaints from Canada, UK, New Zealand and other places. Our Healthcare is so bloated because of lawsuits, unnecessary tests and the notion that keeps getting worse, pain management. But there are issues that should change but the politicians and special interests groups have made it a mess. My deceased father started med school in the 1970's. And got ill from covid in 2021, he told me about all the unnecessary shit they do running up costs and rampant fraud, but who gets screwed the people buying insurance, most have it through employers and companies can no longer discriminate against existing conditions. I know what type of doctors to go to if you are in pain, but if I share that, trust me I know, I will be in trouble. The truth is outweighed by political correctness.Yeah the healthcare system there sounds quite broken since the whole opiod crisis and Law Enforcement going after all the doctors who were prescribing. Now no dooctors want to prescribe any painkillers because they are scared of what the consequences might be.
Here in the UK it's fairly easy to get a prescription for cocodamols, dihydracodienes or if you are in really severe pain in hospital (broken bones etc) they might give morphine. I was in so much pain in hospital last April with a broken wrist, and the morphine still wasn't cutting it. The nurses were discussing giving me the hospital grade diamorphine (pharmacutrical heroin), I was almost gutted they didn't give me it. Could have been another one to tick off the bucket list so to speak.
Anyway I digress, my point was it is much easier to get prescribed painkillers these days in the UK than it is in the US. A stark contrast to the situation 10 years ago I'm sure you'll agree.
Pain is dealt with in hospitals, but outside them you are screwed, you are a lot better off, but I will get in trouble for sharing the truth, all members of my family dealt with pain. This will not change until their is public outcry, but now it is make people deal with the pain. This has become political and neither party will do anything to correct it. In fact my dad a physician, a surgeon non the less was treated like crap by a so called pain management doctor. All these people dying from illegal fent, nothing being done and pain patients suffering. I have cirrhosis of the liver and pancreas problems. My pain is somewhat managed and I was assured when it gets bad before I die, probably in the near future I will get more, I will have to wait and see. The real question is will I get the pain meds I need or.......
